The contest is organized with the aim of encouraging farmers, cooperatives, and businesses in the Mekong Delta provinces and some northern provinces that produce and consume rice to focus on improving the quality of rice varieties, applying advanced farming processes, and producing with safety standards and low emissions. In addition to selecting delicious rice based on sensory criteria, quality, and nutritional value, the contest is also a forum to connect production - processing - consumption, opening up opportunities for cooperation with distribution systems, supermarkets, and export enterprises.
As planned, the contest will take place at the Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center at the end of 2025, with a total estimated budget of 562,000,000 VND. The jury includes scientists , experts, managers, consumer businesses and industry associations, ensuring objectivity, science and fairness. In particular, the prize structure is attractive with 01 First prize worth 40 million VND, 02 Second prizes, 03 Third prizes and 05 Encouragement prizes , along with trophies, certificates and opportunities to promote products widely on media channels.
The organization of the Mekong Delta Rice Competition in Ca Mau province not only affirms the potential and advantages of the local rice industry, but is also an important step in realizing the goal of developing high-quality, sustainable agriculture , contributing to increasing farmers' income in the coming time.
