Efforts to reduce poverty and ensure social security.

In 2025, Thai Nguyen faced numerous difficulties and challenges as natural disasters and complex weather patterns significantly impacted the lives and production of its people. However, the province focused its leadership and guidance on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and restoring socio-economic development. Among these efforts, poverty reduction continued to be identified as a key and ongoing task aimed at ensuring social security and improving the lives of its people.

The family of Mr. Trieu Van Tu (Thanh Thinh commune) has a stable income from their chili farming cooperative model.

In 2025, poverty reduction policies in the province were implemented promptly, targeting the right beneficiaries and ensuring effectiveness. Many projects supporting production development, housing, clean water, and job creation were implemented synchronously, helping people find stable jobs, gradually increase their income, and improve their living standards.

During the year, the province allocated over 338 billion VND from the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction to support people in developing production, creating jobs, generating livelihoods, and increasing income.

In addition, the province is promoting the integration of new rural development programs and socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, thereby increasing investment resources for infrastructure and production development. The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has helped thousands of poor households in the province have stable housing and improve their lives.

During the period 2021-2025, specifically from the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the province implemented 68 projects linking production and consumption of products along the value chain.

The projects focus on supporting seeds, supplies, technology, and building production models linked to guaranteed output, thereby helping people gradually change their mindset from small-scale production to commercial agriculture , actively participating in linkages, increasing the value of agricultural products and creating sustainable livelihoods.

Thanks to the decisive involvement of the entire political system, by 2025 the poverty rate in the province will decrease from 5.46% to 4.52%; the near-poverty rate will decrease from 3.67% to 3.37%. This is a positive result in the context of many difficulties and challenges.

Thanks to the linkages in the consumption of timber from planted forests, jobs have been created and people's incomes have increased.

Mr. Nguyen My Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: To achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, the Department of Agriculture and Environment focuses on advising the province to issue mechanisms and policies to support resources for production development, especially prioritizing ethnic minority and mountainous areas. At the same time, it implements projects to build essential infrastructure to create conditions for people to develop their economy.

"The agricultural sector is actively supporting people, cooperatives, and businesses in applying scientific and technological advancements to boost large-scale commodity production, helping to increase income. In particular, emphasis is placed on replicating the 'four-party' linkage models to connect production with stable consumption, thereby increasing product value and helping people escape poverty sustainably," Mr. Nguyen My Hai added.

Entering 2026, Thai Nguyen will continue to promote sustainable poverty reduction, focusing on supporting production, linking consumption, promoting products, and investing in rural transportation infrastructure. This will boost socio-economic development and improve the lives of the people, especially in disadvantaged areas and ethnic minority regions.
