Book launch: 'For the People, We Forget Ourselves'

On May 31st, at the Viet Bac Guest House in Phan Dinh Phung ward, the Command of Military Region 1, in coordination with the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of the province, the Vietnam Writers Association Publishing House, and the Phan Family Business Club of Northern Vietnam, organized the launch and presentation of the book "For the People, We Forget Ourselves".

The book, edited by journalist and writer Dieu An, was published by the Vietnam Writers Association Publishing House. With 300 pages divided into 5 parts, the work is like a documentary film in words, authentically and movingly recreating the lives and careers of outstanding generals in the Ho Chi Minh era.

Throughout the book, readers gain insightful perspectives on General Vo Nguyen Giap; Admiral Giap Van Cuong and his historic "Oath to Defend the Sea" at Gac Ma; and the steadfast image of the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army from wartime to peacetime.

In particular, the book devotes a significant portion to portraying General Phan Văn Giang, Member of the Political Bureau, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defense —a sharp military strategist and a humble, approachable general in the hearts of the people.

The editor-in-chief, journalist and writer Dieu An, is a veteran writer with over 50 years of experience, having published more than 100 books on historical documents and biographies of famous people.

The book launch and presentation ceremony for "For the People, We Forget Ourselves" carries profound political and social significance, contributing to honoring outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the cause of national defense, fostering revolutionary ideals, affirming the strength of national unity, and strengthening the bond between the military and the people in the new situation.
