More than 2 billion people around the world visit Facebook every day. To help creators reach this large audience, Facebook shows creators' public posts in their News Feed to audiences with similar interests.
However, according to a representative of Meta, the social networking platform Facebook also recorded a number of accounts that intentionally exploited the platform's algorithm to increase views, quickly attract more followers or generate revenue unfairly. These "circumvention" behaviors make it difficult for genuine creators to expand their audience and develop their careers.
Meta said it will continue to make updates to improve the content displayed on Facebook's News Feed based on users' interests and help creators stand out more, first by tightening controls on spam content.
Going forward, Meta will continue to roll out a number of measures to reduce spam content, enabling authentic creators to reach potential audiences and grow long-term on Facebook. Facebook will prioritize displaying content from creators who share unique content and engage authentically with the community.
Reduce the reach of accounts sharing spammy content
Content from accounts that use tactics like posting content with long, distracting captions, using too many hashtags, or including captions that are completely unrelated to the content will only be available to existing followers and will not appear in the News Feed of people who don't follow the account as suggested content.

Spam networks are often created by hundreds of accounts sharing the same spammy content, cluttering users' News Feeds. Accounts found to be engaging in this activity will have their revenue generation limited and may have their audience reach reduced.

Fake engagement from networks of spam accounts is an unfortunate reality on most social media platforms. Facebook will take stronger measures to prevent this behavior.
For example, comments that are found to be fake network interactions will have their visibility reduced. At the same time, Facebook continues to monitor and remove fake Pages created to gain unwarranted reach. In 2024 alone, Meta removed more than 100 million fake Pages on Facebook.

In parallel with these efforts, Meta is also testing new ways to foster more quality, connected discussions. One example is a feature that is currently being tested that flags comments that are inappropriate or out of line with the spirit of the post.

Content creators are often targets of fake accounts. In 2024, Meta removed more than 23 million fake profiles of major creators.
In addition to the proactive detection and remediation mechanisms already in place, Meta has added Moderation Assist, Facebook’s comment moderation tool that detects and automatically hides comments that may come from fake accounts. Creators will also be able to report fake comments directly in the comments section.

Continue to protect and support content creators
The content creators share is an expression of their individual identity. When other accounts reuse that content without permission, it unfairly takes advantage of the creative work that others have put in.
Meta representatives said they are continuing to upgrade Rights Manager to help creators protect their content more effectively. At the same time, Meta also provides in-depth guides to help content creators grow and achieve success on Facebook.
This is just one of a series of investments Meta is making to ensure that creators can grow sustainably on the Facebook platform. Meta representatives are committed to accompanying and properly recognizing the efforts of creators who are creating and sharing quality content that engages the community on the platform.
Meta representatives also said that posting unique, quality content at a regular frequency, and regularly sharing unique, quality content will help creators retain viewers. Creators can also monitor the Professional Dashboard to understand which content is reaching the audience effectively.
Additionally, to reach more audiences, Meta also recommends that content creators focus on content and creating authentic interactions.
Creators should prioritize content that generates engagement, such as comments and shares. Creators can visit the Inspiration Hub to discover popular hashtags, trending songs, and video templates that they can apply to their channel.
Also, content with no more than 5 hashtags is usually most effective. Irrelevant hashtags can negatively impact the reach of your content in the long run./.
