Quang Tri farmers receive lucky money envelopes right in the middle of the fields

Not only were they greeted with good wishes, many farmers in Quang Tri province were also surprised to receive lucky money envelopes from provincial leaders right in the middle of their fields.

On February 1 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year 2025), Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Ha Sy Dong led a working delegation to inspect the agricultural production situation of the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop in Trieu Phong and Hai Lang districts.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Tri province said that as of February 1, the whole province had completed the cultivation of the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring rice crop with an estimated area of over 25,500 hectares (over 100% of the plan), 2,000 hectares of corn, 1,000 hectares of peanuts, 4,500 hectares of cassava and more than 2,000 hectares of vegetables of all kinds...

Through inspection of actual production, it is shown that localities have directed and guided farmers to ensure planting season and seed structure according to the instructions of the agricultural sector, promptly overcome and replant rice areas damaged by cold rain and flooding at the beginning of the season, and there are no areas of rice fields left unplanted.

Focusing on applying scientific and technological advances in production, up to now, over 5,000 hectares of rice use drones to spray herbicides and plant care products. In the coming time, we will continue to apply drones to care for and prevent pests on rice and other crops; nearly 1,000 hectares of rice are linked with businesses in the production and consumption of organic rice, VietGap, rice seeds, etc.

The weather before and during the Lunar New Year 2025 is basically favorable for the growth and development of crops. Farmers are taking care of, pruning, fertilizing rice plants and speeding up the planting of upland crops according to the seasonal schedule.

During the inspection trip, Acting Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong requested the agricultural sector to coordinate with localities to direct specialized units and increase staff to support, guide and encourage farmers to speed up the planting progress of upland crop areas according to the seasonal schedule, and promptly care for and prevent pests and diseases that harm rice plants.
