Mr. Nguyen Van Quoc's family (Binh Xuan commune) planted summer-autumn rice 5 days ago. This summer-autumn crop, his family sowed Huong Chau 6 rice variety.

Mr. Quoc shared: “Although the water source is not very good, here I and the neighboring farmers have to hurry to re-sow rice to have time for 3 crops. The rain has not been steady these past few days, so I am worried. Now that the rice is green, I am happy.” Meanwhile, in Tan Trung commune, Go Cong city, at this time, many farmers with fields near large rivers and canals are also urgently re-sowing rice.

According to the Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection - Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang province, Vo Van Men, the Department of Agriculture has issued a recommended schedule for planting summer-autumn rice in the eastern districts from May 10 to 25. In particular, the Department of Agriculture noted that for the upstream area of ​​Go Cong Tay district and the south of National Highway 50, if conditions are favorable, planting should begin from May 5.

According to the forecast of the Tien Giang Province Hydrometeorological Station, the rainy season will start around May 10, so the Department of Agriculture has set a planting schedule from May 10 to 25. The Department of Agriculture recommends that people be cautious when planting in areas that do not meet the conditions. Areas north of National Highway 50 and the end of Go Cong Sweetening River must plant at the end of the schedule. Regarding the seed structure, the Department of Agriculture recommends that farmers sow high-quality rice varieties such as Dai Thom 8, OM 18, VD20, OM 5451, ST, etc.

According to the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang province, the agricultural sector has issued a schedule for planting summer-autumn rice in the eastern districts. However, areas with favorable conditions can plant rice earlier. Up to this point, the water source in favorable areas has ensured the planting.
