Mr. Le Duc Hai, Bai Danh village, Cai Kinh commune is known as one of the first farmers in the province to successfully graft Thai custard apple and Taiwanese custard apple varieties onto native custard apple roots in 2018. Not only that, he also cultivates in a good agricultural direction, using completely organic fertilizers, biological products for care and pest prevention. At the same time, he also organizes livestreams to sell custard apple varieties on social networks such as tiktok, facebook..., thanks to which, his family's custard apple products are always favored by customers, bringing in hundreds of millions of dong in income each year.

Thanks to the application of intensive farming methods, Mr. La Van Lam, Keo Cap village, Cong Son commune, has successfully renovated more than 1 hectare of Bao Lam rose garden. Mr. Lam said: Through training courses, I have applied techniques of pruning branches to create canopy, using biological products to prevent and treat tree diseases, using organic microbial fertilizers to improve the root system... thanks to which the rose garden has developed well. From low productivity, up to now, each rose tree has yielded more than 50 kg of fruit. Currently, my family has more than 700 rose trees, with a revenue of over 600 million VND/year.

Not only Mr. Hai and Mr. Lam, in recent times, HVND in the whole province has proactively researched and applied science and technology, bringing new varieties of plants into production. Some typical models include: tea under the canopy of star anise of farmers in Binh Gia commune; the method of intervening in the growth peak to stimulate pineapple trees to bear fruit all year round of farmers in Van Nham commune... Not only that, HVND has also proactively applied farming methods in the direction of VietGAP, GlobalGAP with an area of about 4,000 hectares of plants such as: apple, custard apple, grapefruit, pineapple, persimmon, star anise, tea...

In particular, keeping up with digital transformation, in the past 3 years, HVND in the province has strongly applied digital technology to production and consumption of products. Specifically, HVND has deployed automatic irrigation models, drip irrigation, flexible control via smartphones; conducted livestream promotion, sold products on tiktok, facebook platforms... and put agricultural products on social networking sites and e-commerce platforms. To date, the whole province has put over 21,000 agricultural products and specialties on e-commerce platforms.

Supporting farmers to develop the economy

Mr. Bui Van Coi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: In order for the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" to bring positive results, in addition to integrating propaganda and mobilizing members to develop the economy, the association also supports members with capital, working days, and application of science and technology.

From 2022 to present, the Provincial Farmers' Association has coordinated to organize nearly 1,000 training sessions on livestock and crop farming techniques for more than 43,000 participants. At the same time, the association regularly takes farmers to visit and learn about production models that bring high economic efficiency inside and outside the province; selects typical individuals to share experiences with members.

In particular, to help HVND apply digital technology to production and expand the market, the Provincial Farmers' Association has coordinated to propagate and guide HVND to access digital applications serving agricultural production. At the same time, HVND is also instructed in filming skills, taking photos, and writing stories about agricultural products to promote smart products.

At the same time, the Provincial Farmers' Association also created conditions to help members access preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank Branch, the Provincial Branch of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Farmers' Support Fund. Currently, the entire association has more than 22,800 households borrowing capital with a total amount of over VND 1,830 billion. Since 2024, the Provincial Farmers' Association has organized training and improved qualifications and skills for nearly 1,400 excellent farmers and typical farmers in production and business. These are positive factors and effective propagandists for the movement to spread more and more widely. The Association also organized programs to vote for "Excellent Farmers" and "Typical Agricultural Products", considering this a solution to innovate and improve the quality and effectiveness of the movement.

The accompaniment of HND has helped many HVND determine the right direction in economic development and production expansion. Currently, the whole province has 112,700 HVND, accounting for more than 75% of agricultural production households. By the end of 2024, the whole province will have 13,123 HVND households achieving the title of Good Production and Business at all levels, an increase of more than 2,750 households compared to 2023.

It can be seen that the movement "Farmers compete in good production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" has been affirming the role and position of farmers in economic and social development, contributing to spreading the spirit of innovation, creativity, and joining hands to build an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.
