Artist Thanh Nguyet's real name is Nguyen Thi Thanh Nguyet, born on September 17, 1947, from Vinh Loi commune, Bac Lieu . In 1962, Artist Thanh Nguyet was introduced to the Hoa Sen theater troupe, playing the main female role in the plays: "Sanh duong dao dong", "Nguoi me Viet Nam"….
After 1975, she performed for the troupes: Trung Hieu, Thanh Minh, Saigon 1, Tran Huu Trang, troupe 2-84 and recorded many cai luong video plays: "Luong Son Ba - Chuc Anh Dai", "Qua cau buon cay", "Lan va Diep", "Nuoc bien mua nguon"...
Artist Thanh Nguyet was invited to record more than 100 cai luong videos , playing the roles of a hard-working, sacrificing farmer mother for her husband and children. Regarding her family, artist Thanh Nguyet married playwright Moc Linh, a famous playwright in the cai luong world, and had a son named The Phi. Later, she divorced and remarried artist Quoc Nhi, a colleague when they were both in the Thanh Minh troupe.
