In conjunction with promoting propaganda and mobilization among members, women, and the public to maintain environmental hygiene and participate in activities such as planting and caring for trees, and launching environmental cleanup campaigns, the City Women's Union actively coordinated with the Dong Hai Border Guard Station, the City Police, the 937th Air Force Regiment, the 74th Armored Company, the Provincial Police Women's Union, and the Women's Unions of communes and wards to conduct environmental cleanup campaigns at "black spots," and plant trees along roads, at martyrs' memorials, and schools in the city.
Officials, members, and women of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City plant trees.
Contributing to the effective implementation of the "Joining Hands to Prevent and Combat Non-Biodegradable Single-Use Plastic Waste" project and the "Joining Hands to Build Phan Rang-Thap Cham City into a Smart City and a Green Living Community" campaign, the Association, in coordination with the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion, Department of Industry and Trade, organized training conferences, disseminated information, and mobilized support for "Joining Hands to Act Against Non-Biodegradable Single-Use Plastic Waste"; developed a plan and piloted the "Collect Plastic Waste - Exchange for a Green Sapling" model in My Huong ward, which has now been expanded to Tan Tai 3 Primary School and Bao An 2 Primary School. Through this expansion, the Association has collected over 60 kg of plastic bottles and exchanged them for over 200 various types of flowering plants.
In addition to the prepared flower pots, with skill and creativity, city officials, members, and women's union members also utilized and recycled used plastic bottles into vibrant, colorful flower pots, attracting student participation. All plastic bottles collected from this model will be used for the "Small Plan" movement in schools. The "Collect Plastic Waste - Exchange for a Green Sapling" model is a practical activity that not only contributes to promoting environmental protection and reducing plastic waste, but also spreads the movement of planting and caring for green trees in the community. Based on the significance of this model, to commemorate the 113th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8th) and the 1983rd anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising, the Women's Union, in coordination with the City Labor Union, recently organized a folk dance competition titled "Healthy and Beautiful Dance," which incorporated content and prizes for the design and recycling of plastic waste. The competition attracted, inspired, and fostered the creativity of women members in communes and wards in utilizing plastic waste to recycle into decorative products for homes and offices. This contributed to spreading awareness among women and their families about environmental protection and the prevention and control of plastic waste in the locality.
The Women's Union at all levels also focuses on maintaining and effectively implementing models and campaigns such as: "Building a family with 5 no's and 3 clean's," "Carrying a basket to the market," "Family trash can," "Self-managed road," "Trusted address," models for preventing and combating domestic violence, protecting women and children, etc. In addition, in the first quarter of 2023, the My Hai Ward Women's Union launched the model "Reusing plastic waste into reusable products" at My Hai Primary School; the City Women's Union launched the Women's Union of 16 communes and wards to implement the "Bright - Beautiful" road project on 19 roads and alleys to commemorate the 48th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Over the implementation period, the Women's Union of 16 communes and wards mobilized and coordinated with businesses, philanthropists, Party branches, neighborhoods, and households living along the streets and alleys to jointly install streetlights, decorative lights, plant flowers, etc., with a total amount exceeding 281 million VND. The City Women's Union mobilized 5 solar-powered lights worth 6 million VND to support the units. The implementation of the "Bright and Beautiful" street project has brought practical results, received the approval and support of the people, and spread the spirit of solidarity in the community, contributing to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 12-NQ/TU dated January 18, 2023, of the Phan Rang - Thap Cham City Party Committee on building Phan Rang - Thap Cham City to be "Bright, green, clean, beautiful, and civilized" in the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030.
