“The Midnight Studio” is a fantasy drama about Seo Ki Joo (Joo Won), who runs a professional photo studio that exists only for the deceased, and passionate lawyer Han Bom (Kwon Nara).
Although it officially aired on the evening of March 11, the project is currently receiving a lot of attention thanks to its meaningful message as well as marking the collaboration of "rating king" Joo Won with Kwon Nara.
Joo Won shared that he liked the project so much that it was the first time in a long time that he cried so much while reading the script. For the actor, this is a film that contains humor, cuteness and sadness.
“I feel like this is the first time in 10 years that I've filmed in such a warm atmosphere. Especially, the four of us (Joo Won, Kwon Nara, Yoo In Soo, and Eum Moon Suk) ate together and video called every day,” Allure quoted.
Hearing this, Kwon Nara agreed and added, “We always eat together and video call each other. The four of us - Yoo In Soo, Eum Moon Suk, Joo Won, and I - are the ones who often gather at the photo studio.
This is the first time I've gotten so close to my co-stars. It's great to talk to each other a lot and develop chemistry together."
Previously, Kwon Nara shared that she decided to choose this project to return to because of the good script, the participation of Joo Won, and also because of her admiration for Song Hyun Wook - the director who created successful works such as "Again Oh Hae Young", "Beauty of the Soul", "Golden Spoon"...
Kwon Nara's role in the film is Han Bom - a former successful prosecutor and now a lawyer who has difficulty finding cases to take on.
However, Han Bom still maintains a strong sense of duty and justice from her time as a prosecutor. However, because she often helps clients for free, Han Bom has financial difficulties, to the point of being 3 months behind on her rent. At this time, her life changes completely when she meets Seo Ki Joo.
According to the media, right from the first images of the character, Kwon Nara received the public's sympathy because of her beautiful appearance but also her personality and charisma.
“Lawyer Han Bom not only possesses sharp eyes that can analyze clients, but also exudes an attractive aura. Kwon Nara’s transformation further increases expectations about what kind of lawyer she will become for defending ghosts,” wrote the Korean newspaper.
In addition, because this is a fictional project, the 9X star confessed that she often imagines strange situations such as visiting Midnight Studio as a customer.
“I often imagine situations like this. If I were to die, I would probably want to meet my family and tell them what happened. This project will tell exactly that story,” the actress added.
