At the end of March, rumors of human trafficking in Thailand spread rapidly in China, causing panic among many Chinese tourists. Immediately after, Thailand reassured Chinese tourists that the country is a safe destination to travel .

"Thailand attaches great importance to the safety of Chinese tourists and will take appropriate measures to ensure the security of those visiting the country," the Thai Embassy in China said in a statement aimed at clarifying the rumors and reassuring tourists about their safety in Thailand.
