Today (November 2) at Kings Island Golf Resort (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi ), the Tien Phong Golf Championship 2024 took place with the participation of 160 golfers. Despite the efforts and determination of the defending champion Nguyen Duc Son to defend the throne, on an excellent day of competition, 12-year-old golfer Nguyen Bao Chau created a surprise.

Nguyen Bao Chau achieved the final result of 71 strokes (-1) and was also the athlete with the best performance while Nguyen Duc Son's result was 73 strokes (+1). Bao Chau started playing golf 4 years ago and started to reap success last year with the title of U.12 women's champion of stage 4 of the VGA Junior Tour. Next, she won the women's championship title at the Hanoi Junior Tour Open Summer Holiday Leg 6 2024, thereby becoming the youngest Vietnamese golfer to enter the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
"I was very happy and excited to know that I became the champion of the Tien Phong Golf Championship 2024. When entering the tournament, I only set the goal of playing as well as possible and trying to achieve a good ranking, but I was really surprised when the result I achieved led to the Best Gross position," Bao Chau shared.

The Tien Phong Golf Championship 2024 is an annual event to raise funds for the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund. In its 8th season, the tournament also includes the program "With Tien Phong, we help you go to school", supporting students directly affected by storm No. 3. Therefore, the tournament attracts many golfers, including famous stars such as actor Binh An and runner-up Phuong Nga.
With the sharing from "golden hearts", philanthropists, Tien Phong newspaper and Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund have prepared and are in the process of giving over 100 savings books to students with special circumstances such as parents who died in storm No. 3 with a value of 30 million VND/savings book/student.
