On July 15, Korean media reported that singer BoA was forced to cancel two concerts to celebrate her 25th anniversary, scheduled to take place on August 30 and 31 in Seoul due to serious health problems.
The information was officially announced by management company SM Entertainment.

According to the announcement, BoA has recently been experiencing severe pain in her knees. After a medical examination, she was diagnosed with acute osteonecrosis - a disease that causes bone destruction due to lack of blood supply. Due to the risk of the disease progressing, the doctor advised her to undergo emergency surgery and to absolutely avoid strenuous physical activities, including performing.
“Given the current situation, we have no choice but to cancel BoA’s concert this time. We sincerely apologize to the fans and ask for your understanding, as the artist’s health is our top priority,” said an SM representative.
However, BoA's new 25th anniversary album has been completed and will be released as scheduled in the third quarter of this year. SM Entertainment also announced that it will consider holding an alternative concert in the future, depending on the singer's recovery from surgery.
“We will provide maximum support so that BoA can receive treatment and recover in the best possible conditions,” SM emphasized.
