Nicki Minaj documented much of the experience on social media, including being put into a police car. In a video shared on Instagram Live, she speaks to a police officer who claims she is in possession of drugs.
Nicki Minaj was detained while arriving in Amsterdam (Netherlands) during her Pink Friday 2 World Tour.
Minaj says in the clip: "I don't have drugs. I'm not going in there, I need a lawyer here right now. Where am I going?" The officer replies that she has to go to the police station and they will deal with her before she goes to her next show in Manchester (UK). "What am I doing? Oh, am I under arrest? What am I under arrest for?", Minaj says.
Police ordered her to stop filming and get into her car. While it is unclear what happened at the police station, Minaj had been scheduled to appear in Manchester on the evening of May 25 as part of her tour. The event was postponed following the arrest.

Minaj wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that police held her luggage for a search without her consent and refused to show her her own bag. She wrote: "They are paid a lot of money to try to sabotage my tour. I fired my manager because he overcharged me for my jets by $30,000-$50,000 and pocketed it. I recently fired my tour manager for doing the same thing. He was crazy. Their goal was to make me late and pocket $40,000. A lot of people are crazy because the tour is successful and they can't do anything to me."
Meanwhile, police claimed to have found marijuana in Minaj's bag, which she said belonged to one of her security guards. The rapper noted that marijuana is legal in Amsterdam, although it is illegal to transport it into or out of the Netherlands.
Nicki Minaj is currently on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, which is set to continue across Europe until July.
