7-seat car slid into the river while parked on the embankment

(Dan Tri) - A 7-seat car parked on the embankment suddenly slid down into the river in Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province. This was the vehicle of a driver who had just returned home for Tet.

The incident occurred at around 12 noon on January 29 (the first day of Lunar New Year), at Lach Quen fishing port, Phu Nghia commune (Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province).

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, the leader of Phu Nghia commune said that the car owner was a man living in another locality, who had just returned to his hometown in the old Tien Thuy commune (currently Phu Nghia commune, after merging with Quynh Nghia commune) to celebrate Tet with his family.

At that time, the driver of the 7-seat car was out, the vehicle was parked in the embankment area near the Hau River. Due to the steep terrain and a problem with the handbrake, the car slid down the riverbed, causing flooding.

"There were no other vehicles around or people in or behind the car, so luckily there was no further damage," the leader informed.

On the same day, the owner hired a crane to lift the car to shore.
