"Of course he's not going to give up," Biden campaign spokesman Seth Schuster told The Hill , reassuring supporters of the Democratic presidential nominee.
After the debate on the evening of June 27 (morning of June 28, Vietnam time), Democrats suggested that someone else should be chosen to replace Mr. Biden as the party's candidate for the election next November.

Another member of the president’s campaign told Politico that Mr Biden would stay in the race because he was the only person who had ever beaten Mr Trump. “He would do it again,” the person said.
President Biden himself denied backing out after the debate, saying he had performed well and emphasizing: "It's hard to argue with a liar." The leader cited figures from The New York Times to prove that Mr. Trump lied 26 times during the debate.

However, according to US media, the Democratic Party is said to have become "panic" because of Mr. Biden's inferiority to Mr. Trump and is discussing the possibility of replacing him with another candidate.
One Democratic lawmaker suggested Mr Biden should drop out of the race, commenting on the debate: "It's like a past-his-prime boxing champion stepping into the ring and needing his guy to throw in the towel."
Another congressman who has been a staunch Biden supporter said “it’s time to talk about an expanded convention and a new Democratic nominee.”
Biden, 82, was hoarse and appeared tired as he entered the debate, while his opponent, Donald Trump, four years his junior, appeared more energetic. Vice President Kamala Harris acknowledged that Biden had a "slow start" but noted that the election was not based on 90 minutes of debate but on the results of four years in office. Biden's campaign said the president had been suffering from a cold for the past few days, while the leader said he had a sore throat.
Mitch Landrieu, co-chair of Mr Biden's campaign, said the president had a "tough time" and "may have lost the debate on style but won on facts".
According to Reuters, Mr. Biden's campaign raised $14 million on the day of the debate and the following morning. An aide to President Biden said he still plans to attend the second and final debate on September 10.
