On August 27, the People's Council of Kien Giang province, term X, 2021-2026, held the 25th session (special session) to review and decide on a number of contents under its authority.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council elected Mr. Giang Thanh Khoa, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Mr. Giang Thanh Khoa, born in 1974, hometown: Vinh Thuan district (Kien Giang); professional qualification: Master of Construction; political qualification: Senior.

Before holding the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Khoa held the positions of Secretary, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Luong district, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Kien Giang province.

The Provincial People's Council also elected Mr. Nguyen Thong Nhat, Director of the Department of Finance, as a member of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province for the 10th term, 2021-2026; and dismissed Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, former Director of the Department of Finance, as a member of the People's Committee of the province for the 10th term, 2021-2026 due to a change in work.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council resolved to approve the policy of rearranging administrative units at district and commune levels in the 2023-2025 period of the province; adjust the decision on investment policy for the project to build Giang Thanh District Medical Center; adjust and supplement the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period with a state budget source in the province of nearly 38,000 billion VND.

The Provincial People's Council adjusted and supplemented the 2024 public investment capital plan in the province by nearly 380 billion VND and extended the implementation and disbursement time of the 2023 local budget public investment plan to 2024 for 77 projects, with an amount of more than 87 billion VND...

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Kien Giang province Mai Van Huynh emphasized that, based on the actual situation of the locality, the Provincial People's Council has reviewed and unanimously voted to pass 13 draft resolutions. These are important resolutions that contribute to promoting the progress and disbursement rate of public investment capital in 2024; effectively implementing national target programs on sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction, socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas and implementing policies for part-time workers at the commune, hamlet and neighborhood levels in the province.

In order for these resolutions to quickly come into effect, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant agencies to promptly implement them; the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, committees, delegations and delegates of the Provincial People's Council to strengthen supervision during the implementation of the resolutions./.
