On the morning of June 21, the People's Council of Quang Nam province, term X, 2021 - 2026, held its 23rd session to resolve urgent matters and elect the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee. At the session, 100% of the delegates present (50/50) voted unanimously to elect Mr. Le Van Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Nam province, to hold the position of Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee for the term 2021 - 2026.

Mr. Le Van Dung was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to replace Mr. Le Tri Thanh.
Previously, at the 21st session of the People's Council of Quang Nam province, term X, 2021 - 2026, 100% of delegates unanimously voted to dismiss Mr. Le Tri Thanh from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and delegate of the People's Council of Quang Nam province, term X.
Mr. Le Tri Thanh took responsibility as the head of the Provincial People's Committee but let his subordinates commit many violations.
Also at the meeting this morning, June 21, 100% of the delegates present (50/50) voted unanimously to elect Mr. Phan Thai Binh, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
100% of the delegates present (50/50) also voted unanimously to elect Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Secretary of Tam Ky City Party Committee, to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
Previously, at the 22nd session of the 10th term Quang Nam Provincial People's Council held on the morning of April 23, 100% of the delegates present (50/50) voted unanimously to elect Mr. Tran Nam Hung to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
However, about 2 months later, the Prime Minister still has not approved the election results for the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province for Mr. Tran Nam Hung because the election process did not ensure procedures, so at the 23rd session, delegates conducted a re-election.
Mr. Le Van Dung (58 years old, from Que Binh commune, Hiep Duc district, Quang Nam), has a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics and political theory.
Before being elected Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, Mr. Dung worked as Secretary of Hiep Duc District Party Committee, Chief of Office of Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board.
In April 2019, he was elected as the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee. In July 2021, he was elected as a delegate to the 15th National Assembly and was assigned as Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Nam Province.
Mr. Phan Thai Binh (50 years old, from Que Xuan 2 commune, Que Son district, Quang Nam), has a master's degree in law and senior politics.
