The Russian President warned that if the Israel-Hamas conflict is not ended soon, it could spread beyond the Middle East and cause serious consequences.
"Our main task today is to stop bloodshed and violence. Otherwise, the crisis will spread not only in the Middle East, but also beyond the region. The escalation of the crisis will be extremely dangerous and have serious consequences," Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with religious leaders at the Kremlin on October 25.
Mr Putin expressed his condolences to all Israelis who lost loved ones in the Hamas attack on October 7, but criticised Israel's continued bombing of the Gaza Strip, saying "innocent people should not be held responsible for crimes committed by others".

The Russian president also accused "some forces" of trying to provoke further escalation of the war and drag more countries and peoples into the conflict.
"Their goal is to unleash a wave of chaos and mutual hatred, not only in the Middle East but also in other regions. Combined with other goals, they are trying to exploit the national and religious sentiments of millions of people," Mr. Putin said.
The Russian president continued to affirm his support for a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli issue, which he believes is the only way to achieve lasting peace .
Russia and China on October 25 vetoed a draft Security Council resolution on the Gaza conflict proposed by the United States, saying the document did not call for a full ceasefire. Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia accused the United States of crafting the draft to facilitate Israel's ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that efforts should continue to reach agreement on a UN resolution on the Israel-Hamas war, but it would be a mistake if the resolution condemned only one side in the conflict.
Nearly 8,000 people have been killed in both Israel and Gaza since the conflict began. Many countries have called for a halt to airstrikes to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Israel continues to prepare for an attack on Gaza, announcing that its military operation will begin soon.
