"I hate Taylor Swift !" - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social on September 15. Mr. Trump posted the above article in all capital letters. He did not comment or explain. Mr. Trump's statement was made less than a week after American singer Taylor Swift publicly supported and would vote for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in this year's presidential election. The pop superstar expressed her support for Ms. Harris after the first debate on September 10 between Ms. Harris and Mr. Trump. The two candidates faced each other on the debate stage in Philadelphia, talking about issues such as abortion, immigration, economy and foreign policy. "I will vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz (Democratic vice presidential candidate) in the 2024 presidential election," Taylor Swift said in an Instagram post. "I'm voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights that I believe need a warrior to defend," the "Love Story" singer explained. "I think she's a strong, capable leader, and I believe we can achieve so much more in this country if we're led by calm, not chaos." Swift has more than 400 million followers on Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms, according to AFP. About 10 million of them have "liked" her Instagram post. It's unclear what Trump hopes to achieve with his latest post. Earlier, in response to Swift's endorsement of Harris, Trump - who has 7.71 million followers on Truth Social - said he was "not a Taylor fan."
