Osimhen sets Turkish transfer record.

Osimhen previously played for Galatasaray on loan in the 2024/25 season and immediately shone brightly with 37 goals in 41 matches. This impressive performance prompted the Istanbul team to negotiate with Napoli to retain the 26-year-old striker with a long-term contract.

However, negotiations were not easy. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis - known as a tough negotiator - demanded a high fee and many add-ons. In the end, the two parties reached an agreement for a basic transfer fee of €75 million, with €5 million in bonuses if Osimhen reached milestones such as scoring 30 goals in the Super Lig or helping Galatasaray reach the Champions League semi-finals.

According to the details, 40 million euros will be paid in 2025, the remaining 35 million euros will be divided into two installments in 2026. Napoli also cleverly added a clause to receive 10% of the transfer fee in the future, at the same time requiring Galatasaray not to sell Osimhen to any club in Italy for at least the next two years - an "anti-return to Serie A" clause to avoid this striker facing his old team.

Despite receiving huge offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Osimhen still prioritized staying at Galatasaray - where he felt "at home". The warm affection from the fans, the suitable playing environment and the growing position of the Turkish team are the factors that made the Nigerian striker stay at Rams Park for a long time.

Galatasaray anh 1

Victor Osimhen turned down money to choose passion - and Galatasaray now have a new icon.

In return for that loyalty, Galatasaray did not hesitate to give Osimhen a contract with a salary of up to 15 million euros/year (after tax), lasting for 4 seasons. In addition, he also signed two more personal sponsorship contracts, expected to bring in about 10 million euros in additional income each year.

With this historic deal, Galatasaray not only owns one of the best strikers in Africa today, but also sends a strong message about their ambition to reach the continent. Meanwhile, Napoli, despite losing their main star, can be satisfied with the huge revenue and guaranteed additional terms.

Victor Osimhen has turned down money to choose passion - and Galatasaray now have a new symbol, not just of the pitch but of loyalty and the desire to conquer the top.
