3 officials discovered using foreign language certificates issued by "fake" organizations

(Dan Tri) - Through a review, the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Binh province discovered that 3 officials working at local units were using English certificates issued by a "fake" organization.

The above officials are working at Le Thuy District General Hospital, Dong Hoi City Parks and Trees Center and Center for Information Technology on Natural Resources and Environment, under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Quang Binh province.

Previously, based on the request of the security investigation agency, Hanoi City Police, the Ministry of Home Affairs sent an official dispatch to ministries, government agencies, and People's Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities requesting to check and review the records of civil servants and public employees who declared to use foreign language certificates under the name of Cambridge International (this is a fake organization).

After discovering 3 cases of using English certificates issued by Cambridge International, the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Binh reported to the Ministry of Home Affairs for handling.

According to the leader of the Quang Binh Department of Home Affairs, the unit only has the function of checking and determining whether or not there are English diplomas and certificates issued by Cambridge International, but has no role in assessing whether this organization is doing it correctly or not.

It is known that last June, the Internal Political Security Department and the Investigation Security Department of Hanoi City Police prosecuted many people in a ring that organized exams and issued fake English certificates under the name Cambridge International.

The subjects advertised this as a prestigious organization in the world for training and granting international foreign language certificates, to attract people in need of certificates, to register and thereby appropriate money.

This group organized exams and issued about 4,200 English certificates under the name Cambridge International at a price of 2.3-18 million VND/certificate. The mastermind and his accomplices in the case were also prosecuted for fraud and property appropriation.
