These days, 80 years ago, our whole country was seething with the atmosphere of the earth-shattering August Revolution. The Revolution broke the domination of more than 80 years of French colonialism and nearly 5 years of Japanese fascism, abolished the feudal regime that had existed for thousands of years, and regained independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people. On the timeline and in the hearts and minds of every Vietnamese person, the image of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) - the first worker-peasant state in Southeast Asia, on September 2, 1945, cannot be erased.
In his opening speech at the Seminar, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, affirmed: The August Revolution of the Vietnamese people has eternal value, becoming an endless source of inspiration not only for our country on its development journey, but also an inspiration for people in colonial countries around the world to step up the struggle for independence, autonomy, national self-determination, and the elimination of domination, oppression, and injustice.
The values, meanings and lessons learned from the August Revolution are always relevant. Among them, the most important and key lessons are to maintain the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; to promote the spirit of patriotism, love for the people, and great national unity; to always think and act for the benefit of the Fatherland and the people; to thoroughly take advantage of revolutionary opportunities; to flexibly and boldly grasp and transform the revolutionary situation; to make the most of the support and assistance of international friends...

Regarding the country's development goals in the coming time, some opinions say that for Vietnam today, when the goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045 is gradually taking shape more clearly than ever, legal reform needs to be viewed as a strategic mission, a central task in creating a modern national governance. A modern, feasible and transparent legal system will be an institutional launch pad, creating market trust, expanding the space for innovation and protecting social justice. It is not just a wish, but a determination to act.
In addition, affirming that culture is an endogenous resource for sustainable national development, there are opinions that, in reality, in our nation's long-term resistance wars, culture has always been the "red thread" throughout. Culture is not an "external thing" of revolutions, but the source of endogenous strength, a solid spiritual foundation for the nation to stand up, overcome all challenges and continue to move forward. Without culture, there will be no national character; without national character, there will be no successful revolution and sustainable development. Therefore, to build a prosperous and happy Vietnam in the new era, we need to continue to arouse, promote and develop cultural values as the most fundamental and lasting strength of the country./.
