(BGDT) - Promoting the role of youth in digital transformation and digital technology application, in recent times, the youth of Bac Giang City have actively carried out many meaningful activities and tasks.

Effectively implementing the contents of the Project "Improving digital capacity for youth; promoting the core and leading role of the Youth Union at all levels in digital transformation in the period of 2022-2025 in Bac Giang province", especially applying digital transformation in the activities of the Youth Union, Bac Giang City Youth Union has deployed many digital transformation projects and achieved initial results.

Accordingly, with the aim of building and enhancing the reading culture for children and the people, the City Youth Union has just implemented the project "Community electronic bookcase" and "Electronic Party cell bookcase". In just 3 months of implementation, 200 bookcases have been installed at the headquarters of the People's Committees of wards and communes; cultural houses of villages and residential groups; apartments, parks. The bookcases have an intuitive and vivid 3D interface design in the form of flip books with sounds and images.

To help young people access historical knowledge through creative and vivid forms, Bac Giang City Youth Union has coordinated with a number of units to deploy software to integrate information and data of relics into QR codes. To date, 12 relics in the area have been installed with signs guiding the search for information about the sites by scanning QR codes on the Zalo application.

Increase the efficiency of projects and tasks

Along with the above activities, in recent times, the city's youth have actively supported people to use online public services; register to participate in e-commerce platforms; promote products and services on social networking platforms. At the same time, the City Youth Union directed 100% of grassroots youth unions to establish volunteer teams to support people in using online public services at the one-stop-shop departments of wards and communes and implement the model of "3 no" Thursday (no paperwork, no cash, no contact with one-stop-shop officials) and Fast Friday. Currently, the city has 16 community digital technology groups with more than 500 members, the core of which are youth union members.

Implementing the peak month of supporting people to install and activate VneID electronic identification accounts, the City Youth Union actively coordinated with the City Police to guide and support more than 10,000 people to install and activate VneID electronic identification accounts right at the police headquarters of wards and communes; the application integrates driver's licenses, vehicle registration, health insurance, and social insurance to facilitate administrative transactions.

In order for youth union members and people to grasp information, all documents, resolutions, and results of activities of the Youth Union are publicly posted on the electronic information portal and Facebook of the City Youth Union in the form of news, articles, video clips, infographics, posters, etc. in a concise and succinct manner. From there, people can easily share on the Internet and social networks, creating a widespread effect in the community.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, in the coming time, the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union will continue to widely and effectively implement many specific projects and tasks to promote the pioneering role of young people in digital transformation such as: Cashless traditional markets; digitalization of street name information; community electronic bookcases. Thereby affirming the position and role of the Youth Union, contributing to building a civilized and modern city.
