(HG) - According to the agricultural sector of Phung Hiep district, Hoa An commune has built a model for producing South American bananas, with 18 hectares. Participating in the model, farmers are supported by enterprises with seedlings, production processes and product purchases at a price of 5,000 VND/kg. South American bananas are a high-yield variety, rich in nutrients, best when ripe, with an average yield of 70-80 tons of fruit/ha/year, revenue of 400-500 million VND/ha, profit of 200-250 million VND/ha. This is a fruit that has just been recognized by Phung Hiep district as meeting 3-star OCOP standards.

Mr. Le Vu Lam, owner of Chuoi Viet business in Hoa An commune, Phung Hiep district, said that South American bananas are easy to grow and suitable for all types of soil, especially acid sulfate soil. Currently, his business supplies about 4 tons of bananas to retail systems. In the near future, the business will cooperate with farmers to expand the raw material area to have enough output for export.
