Previously, Mr. NMT (36 years old, living in Can Tho City) was injured while playing football, but did not receive thorough treatment. Recently, the pain has worsened, joints are loose, and movement is difficult.
After examination, the doctor determined that Mr. T. had a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, bilateral meniscus tears, cartilage damage, and grade 1 osteoarthritis. The patient also had many underlying medical conditions such as high blood pressure, fatty liver, and high liver enzymes, which increased the risk of surgical intervention.
To restore motor function and prevent progressive degeneration, patient T. was indicated for arthroscopic surgery to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament, combined with meniscus resection. The surgery lasted more than 1 hour using modern, minimally invasive endoscopic techniques, helping to reduce pain and preserve healthy tissue.
After only 48 hours of surgery, the patient was able to be discharged from the hospital, with initial knee movement reaching 0-30 degrees.

After only 48 hours, the patient was able to be discharged from the hospital, with initial knee movement reaching 0-30 degrees, and no postoperative complications were recorded. According to the rehabilitation regimen, if followed well, after 6-9 months, patient T. can return to sports activities as before the injury.
According to Professor - Doctor - Doctor Tran Trung Dung, Director of Orthopedic Trauma - Sports Medicine, Vinmec Healthcare System, using the method of cutting meniscus and precisely designing bone tunnels, ligament grafts with almost zero error. This ensures that the regenerated ligament achieves the correct shape, size, and original physiological function, especially important for young people, athletes and patients with long-term joint damage.
