Phieng Ngua becomes the first model new rural village of the City

On December 14, Chieng Xom commune, Son La city held a ceremony to announce Phieng Ngua village as a model new rural village in terms of landscape and living environment quality in 2024. Attending the ceremony were comrade Ha Trung Chien, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; leaders of a number of departments and branches of the province. This is the first village in the city to meet the model new rural standards.

Phieng Ngua village is about 1km from the center of Chieng Xom commune, with a natural area of 116 hectares, with 125 households and 470 people. With the determination, efforts and drastic participation of all levels and sectors, especially with the consensus and high support of the people in the village, after more than 2 years of active implementation, Phieng Ngua village has now completed 16/16 criteria, with 44 new rural village criteria and 9/9 criteria for a model new rural village in terms of landscape and living environment.

Ms. Tong Thi Hac, Phieng Ngua village, Chieng Xom commune, Son La city: "With the efforts and support of each villager, Phieng Ngua village has achieved the greatest results and achievements today. We have achieved the title of model village for a clean, green and beautiful environment; we also promise that as citizens of the village, we will strive to maintain and encourage our families to maintain the honorable title that the village has received."

The state budget has supported and invested more than 2.3 billion VND in the village, the village mobilized people to contribute 657 million VND to invest in completing the targets and criteria. Up to now, 100% of Phieng Ngua village's main roads have been concreted, the average income per capita has reached 57.5 million VND/year; the village has no poor households, no temporary houses, no dilapidated houses, the rate of households with sustainable housing is 100%; security and order are maintained; the landscape of the alleys is bright, green, clean and beautiful.

Mr. Leo Van Huong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieng Xom commune, Son La city: "Through working with the Party Committee and the management board of Phieng Ngua village and bringing it to the people's meeting, we received the consensus and support of the people. From there, the Party Committee and related self-management groups promoted propaganda work, inspected the village grounds, and proposed to the city to invest in projects to achieve the 16 criteria of a model new rural village. Up to now, the village has achieved the model new rural village status."

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, the Secretary of the City Party Committee requested the Party Committee, government, and people of Chieng Xom commune, the Party Committee, the management board, and the people of Phieng Ngua village to continue to maintain and develop the model of a new rural village, do a good job of protecting the rural environment, actively improve the living environment and landscape, develop models of green - clean - beautiful villages and alleys, associated with the development of community tourism , preserving and promoting unique cultural values to attract tourists. Strive to build 1 - 2 villages each year to meet the standards of a new rural village model./.
