Vice Chairman of the National Assembly visits and extends New Year greetings for Chol Chnam Thmay

On the morning of April 15th, a delegation from the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, led by Vice Chairwoman Tran Thi Hoa Ry, visited and extended New Year greetings for Chol Chnam Thmay at Theravada Buddhist temples in Ca Mau province. The delegation included Nguyen Binh Tan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

• Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religion Y Thong visits and extends New Year greetings to the Khmer people in Ca Mau on Chol Chnam Thmay.
• Prime Minister Le Minh Hung sends a letter wishing the Khmer people a Happy Chol Chnam Thmay New Year.
• Visiting and extending New Year greetings to the Khmer people on Chol Chnam Thmay.

The delegation visited and extended New Year greetings at the following temples: Komphirsakorprêkchru (Xiêm Cán, Hiệp Thành ward), Buppharam (Cái Giá Chót) and Soryaram (Cái Giá Giữa) in Hưng Hội commune.

Venerable Tăng Sa Vong, abbot of Buppharam Pagoda, said that he will continue to work with the local community, focusing on improving the education level of the Khmer people; at the same time, the pagoda recently awarded 20 scholarships to support disadvantaged Khmer students.

The delegation took a commemorative photo with the management board of Buppharam Pagoda on the occasion of the New Year.

At each destination, the delegation extended New Year wishes for peace and happiness to the abbots, senior monks, religious leaders, and Khmer people. At the same time, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Affairs Committee, Tran Thi Hoa Ry, provided an overview of the country's socio-economic situation and policies for ethnic minority areas; acknowledging and commending the contributions of religious leaders and the Khmer people in preserving cultural identity, strengthening national unity, contributing to socio-economic development, and ensuring security and order in the locality.

Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Binh Tan acknowledged the contributions of Soryaram Pagoda in preserving and promoting traditional culture through many vibrant and unique cultural, artistic, and sports activities.

The delegation offered incense and prayed for a peaceful new year at Soryaram Temple.

The monks and senior abbots also affirmed that they will continue to propagate and encourage the Khmer people to promote the spirit of solidarity and mutual support in production and learning; to set an example in complying with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, contributing to building an increasingly developed homeland.
