(QNO) - This morning, January 29, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited, wished a happy new year, and presented gifts to families with meritorious services, the poor, workers, and children in difficult circumstances in Quang Nam . Reporting to the Vice President , Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Tri Thanh informed about the socio-economic development, security and defense situation in the province in 2023. Accordingly, although the economic context still has many difficulties, under the drastic management of the Party Committee and provincial government; efforts of all levels, sectors and localities, the budget revenue in the province exceeded the plan.
However, some targets in the field have not yet reached the set targets. Quang Nam aims to have no more households living in temporary houses by 2025, focusing on implementing the provincial planning until 2030. Speaking at the visit, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, sent New Year greetings to all officials and people of Quang Nam province. At the same time, she informed that in 2023, the country's economic growth rate was quite good in the region, budget revenue exceeded the target, many areas had high growth rates; raising the average income per capita of the whole country by more than 100 million VND/year.
According to the Vice President, in recent times, the Government has focused on developing transport infrastructure, promoting investment attraction in many fields, opening up many opportunities for comprehensive development across the country in 2024 and the following years. Especially in foreign economic relations, Vietnam has achieved many victories, creating a proud image with countries around the world.
Comrade Vo Thi Anh Xuan expressed her emotions every time she set foot in Quang Nam, the land of "braveness and resilience" in the struggle to defend the country, suffering many sacrifices and losses - the locality with the most policy beneficiaries in the country, with more than 45,500 people.
From a poor province in the country, often affected by natural disasters, but with the solidarity and efforts of the whole people, the correct orientation of the Party Committee and the government, Quang Nam's economy has strongly grown in recent years; shifting the economic structure to develop modernly and sustainably, with outstanding fields, and infrastructure has clearly changed.
In particular, Quang Nam focuses on taking care of the lives of families with meritorious services to the revolution, remembering the contributions of generations who sacrificed and contributed to the homeland and the country... According to the Vice President, throughout its long tradition, Quang Nam's rise is admirable, becoming one of the provinces with budget autonomy and strong economic transformation. Currently, some sectors have become outstanding economies, typically automobile manufacturing, tourism, transport infrastructure, etc.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan suggested that in 2024, Quang Nam needs to continue promoting the revolutionary homeland tradition, dynamism, creativity, and daring to think and act of the locality in the current context.
"More than ever, in difficult times, we must unite, strengthen the ideology, sentiment and pride of our homeland, continue to perfect the organizational apparatus, build a strong and comprehensive political system from the province to the grassroots level to overcome the difficult period" - the Vice President emphasized.

On the same morning, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited and presented 100 Tet gifts (each gift worth 3 million VND) to patients being treated at the Oncology Department - Quang Nam General Hospital. The Vice President asked about the health and encouraged the patients to cooperate with the doctors at the hospital for treatment, to recover soon and return to their families.
