According to Director of the National Children's Hospital Tran Minh Dien, every day the hospital receives about 3,500 - 4,500 children for outpatient examination and nearly 2,000 children are being treated as inpatients. The hospital is the place that receives the most difficult and complicated cases in the country with a huge workload. Among them, there are many specialized surgeries such as: stem cell transplantation, kidney transplantation, liver transplantation, open heart surgery, bone marrow transplantation, neurosurgery... and many specialized interventions, resuscitation, external artificial heart-lung, kidney dialysis...

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Vietnam Children's Fund, visited and presented gifts to the National Children's Hospital.

In addition, the Hospital also focuses on training, technology transfer, and equipment support for 28 satellite hospitals in provinces and cities to ensure that patients at lower levels enjoy quality medical examination and treatment; undertakes the training of medical personnel in the entire Northern region and some Southern regions. Scientific research and international cooperation have also achieved many results and successes. During the two years affected by the COVID-19 pandemic (2021-2022), the Hospital has overcome many difficulties to complete the tasks assigned by the Ministry of Health .

The Director of the National Children's Hospital shared that for the past 13 years, the Hospital's Social Work Department has always performed well in its task of connecting sponsors, organizations, and units to have resources to support children in difficult circumstances; at the same time, taking care of the children's spirit with classes of hope, music, English, drawing... right at the hospital; organizing activities, art, and entertainment on holidays, Tet... Thereby, helping parents and children reduce stress during treatment at the hospital; children have the opportunity to play and entertain...

On this occasion, Director Dinh Tien Hai, Vietnam Children's Fund donated 230 million VND to disadvantaged children being treated at the National Children's Hospital.

On this occasion, Chairwoman of the Bright Tomorrow Fund Nguyen Thi Xuyen presented 100 gifts (worth 200 million VND) to disadvantaged children being treated at the National Children's Hospital.

At the hospital, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highly appreciated, commended and congratulated the results that the National Children's Hospital has achieved in recent times, contributing to the health care of the people, including children. The Vice President expressed her impression that the hospital has comprehensive activities, not only improving its expertise, techniques, skills, facilities, etc., but also doing a good job in social work to support and help children in difficult circumstances who come to receive medical treatment.

The Vice President hopes that in the coming time, the Hospital will continue to maintain and promote patient support activities; continue to develop, worthy of being the leading unit in providing examination, treatment, and pediatric care services, as well as training and transferring advanced techniques in pediatrics in Vietnam today.

The Vice President expressed concern about the current situation of complex and unpredictable disease developments, while advances in science and modern medicine may not be able to keep up. Therefore, hospitals need to continuously conduct research to predict diseases so they can be prevented; continue to research methods, techniques, and skills to treat children with the least possible sequelae, helping them have the opportunity to develop comprehensively and healthily so that the country has a good quality human resource.

On this occasion, the Vice President presented a financial support package to disadvantaged children being treated at the hospital. The Vietnam Children's Fund (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) and the Bright Tomorrow Fund also presented gifts to the children here with a total value of VND230 million and VND200 million, respectively.

In addition to presenting funding to support the Hospital, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and her delegation directly visited and presented gifts to disadvantaged children being treated at the Cancer Center and Neurology Center of the National Children's Hospital.

The Vice President kindly visited and was moved to see many young patients, even 2 months old, fighting the disease day and night. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan sent words of encouragement and hope that the children will continue to try, be resilient, and optimistic with their parents and doctors to continue treatment so that they can soon get well and return to normal life.
