Vice Chairman of the National Assembly visited and signed the condolence book at the Russian Embassy

On the morning of March 26, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai led a delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Hanoi to pay his respects and write in the condolence book about the terrorist attack at the Crocus Shopping Center, Moscow, Russia on the evening of March 22 (local time) that left many people dead and injured.

 

Writing in the condolence book, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai wrote: "We were extremely shocked to receive information about the brutal terrorist attack that occurred on March 22, 2024. The National Assembly and people of Vietnam would like to sincerely send our deepest condolences to the State, National Assembly and people of Russia, as well as the families of the victims.

 

Vietnam strongly condemns terrorist attacks in all forms and believes that the perpetrators will be duly punished. We hope that the families of the victims will soon overcome this pain and loss, that the injured will recover soon, and that the people and country of Russia will always be peaceful, happy and prosperous."

 

On the same day, many delegations, sectors, social organizations and individuals came to sign the condolence book, expressing condolences to the country and people of Russia.

 

Ms. Vu Viet Trang, Party Secretary and General Director of Vietnam News Agency, led a delegation of Vietnam News Agency to visit, write in the condolence book, and commemorate the victims who died in the attack in Moscow.

Ms. Vu Viet Trang wrote: "The staff of the Vietnam News Agency were extremely shocked to hear about the terrorist attack on the night of March 22, 2024 in Moscow. We would like to send our deepest condolences to the country and people of Russia, especially the victims and their relatives. We hope that the deceased victims will rest in peace, and that the injured and their families will have more strength and solidarity to overcome this great pain and loss!"

 

The attack occurred at the Crocus City Hall concert hall (with a capacity of 6,200 people) in the Crocus shopping center in Krasnogorsk, Moscow region, on the evening of March 22.

 

According to the Russian Investigative Committee, 139 people were killed in the attack and the death toll could rise. The victims died from gunshot wounds or from inhaling toxic fumes as the terrorists set fire to the building. Medical officials said 182 people were injured.

 

Russian authorities have detained 11 suspects, including four who are suspected of directly carrying out the attack. The international community has unanimously condemned the terrorist attack.

 

On March 23, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan sent a message of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a message of condolences to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin; National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sent a message of condolences to Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Parliament Valentina Matvienko and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Parliament Vyacheslav Volodin.

 

On the same day, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son sent a message of condolences to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

 

From March 25-27, in Hanoi, the Embassy of the Russian Federation opened a condolence book to commemorate the victims of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall theater in the suburbs of Moscow on the evening of March 22.

 

At the same time, condolence books were also opened at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
