The Integrated Adaptation Development Project - Gia Lai Province, funded by a World Bank (WB) loan, received investment approval from the Prime Minister in Decision No. 2265/QD-TTg dated December 31, 2021, and the project's construction investment plan was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3671/QD-UBND dated November 4, 2022. The project has a total investment of over VND 2,659 billion, including over VND 1,579 billion from the WB loan and over VND 1,079 billion from the local budget. The project implementation period is from 2022 to 2031. The Provincial People's Committee is the managing agency; the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Project Management Board is the investor.
Within the framework of this project, there are two sub-projects: the road connecting Quy Nhon Port from National Highway 19C, approximately 6.35 km long, and the coastal road section from My Thanh to Lai Giang, approximately 38.41 km long. The project aims to contribute to completing the transportation axis connecting Phu Tai Industrial Park, Long My Industrial Park, Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial-Urban-Service Zone, and the Long Van - Long My new urban area with the Quy Nhon area. It connects traffic from National Highway 1A and National Highway 19C to Quy Nhon Port and the Quy Nhon area to share traffic flow via Hung Vuong Road. It completes the coastal road in the province and connects it with the national coastal road system; strengthens transportation connectivity, and eliminates the single-route traffic on National Highway 1A. Ensuring smooth traffic flow during natural disasters such as floods and landslides; promoting industrial and tourism economic development, improving quality in a sustainable manner and adapting to climate change; enhancing the efficiency of public investment activities, and boosting the socio-economic development of the locality.

The Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Project Management reports on the implementation status of the Integrated Adaptation Development Project - Gia Lai Province.
Over the past period, Gia Lai province has focused on implementing compensation, support, and resettlement for households affected by the project. To date, the province has approved compensation plans and disbursed over 113 billion VND to 508 out of 1,720 affected households, and is expected to disburse an additional 22.5 billion VND to approximately 100 affected households by the end of this year. In addition, the Project Management Board has finalized the draft tender documents, submitted them to the World Bank for initial review, and will announce the selection of contractors this December, immediately after the World Bank issues a letter of no objection regarding the tender documents.
Through discussions, both parties agreed that the warranty period for the construction project will be implemented in accordance with the Government's regulations in Decree No. 06/2021/ND-CP dated January 26, 2021, detailing some contents on quality management, construction and maintenance of construction works.
The Project Management Board will actively coordinate with central agencies to submit the loan agreement signed on December 12th to the President for approval; at the same time, it will coordinate with the Department of Debt Management and External Economic Relations (Ministry of Finance) to promptly finalize the draft sub-loan agreement for the project and proceed with signing it this December.

The World Bank delegation highly appreciated Gia Lai province's decisive approach in implementing the project.
Also at the meeting, Gia Lai province and the World Bank delegation reviewed and proposed a list of strategic transportation infrastructure development projects connecting Gia Lai province and surrounding regions, using World Bank ODA funds, and proposed implementation plans.
Both sides agreed to propose the implementation of the Integrated Adaptation Development Project - Binh Dinh Province (expanded) with 6 transportation infrastructure items, aiming to shorten the project preparation and implementation time. These items are large-scale infrastructure projects with regional connectivity, bringing comprehensive socio-economic benefits, adapting to climate change, and meeting the World Bank's priority criteria.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang thanked the World Bank for its active support in building and implementing the Integrated Adaptation Development Project - Gia Lai Province; and expressed his hope that the World Bank would continue to cooperate closely and exchange information to ensure the project is implemented on schedule and with quality, meeting the World Bank's requirements.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang said he would report to the Provincial Party Standing Committee for consideration and feedback on the list of strategic transportation infrastructure development projects connecting inter-regional areas of Gia Lai province that the two sides have just agreed to propose.
