Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visits and works in Son La.

On November 18th, Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Prime Minister, along with his delegation, visited and worked in Son La province.

Reporting to the Government delegation, the leaders of the Son La Provincial People's Committee provided information on the socio-economic development situation, progress of public investment, import and export activities, social housing construction; the implementation of national target programs and the implementation of the two-tiered local government model.

The province also highlighted the difficulties and obstacles in urban planning and development, construction management, materials, transportation, land use, etc.; and proposed numerous recommendations to remove these "bottlenecks" and create room for further development.

To achieve the highest possible results in socio-economic development in 2025, Son La province requests the Government, the Prime Minister, and relevant ministries and agencies to promptly submit to the National Assembly for approval the investment policies for national target programs for the period 2026-2030; allocate approximately 4,476 billion VND to upgrade the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway to 4 lanes; and assign the province as the lead agency for investing in the Moc Chau - Son La expressway.

Son La also proposed transferring some power projects to state investment; allocating over 570 billion VND to border school projects; directing the 4G coverage in 9 villages still without signal; and promptly finalizing regulations on job positions and public housing policies for commune-level officials.

Concluding the working session, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts, determination, and comprehensive achievements of Son La in recent times, especially in attracting investment, investing in processing industries, applying high technology in agricultural production, and addressing social welfare issues.

Mr. Bui Thanh Son suggested that the province continue to closely adhere to the 2025 growth target, maintain stability in people's lives, and effectively implement the Central Resolutions, especially the 7 key resolutions recently issued. At the same time, he requested Son La to focus on removing "bottlenecks" in infrastructure, mechanisms, and resources; and to leverage its potential and advantages to create stronger development momentum and make a positive contribution to the Northwest region.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the province needs to maintain a spirit of daring to think, daring to act, and daring to take responsibility for the common good, and be decisive in directing and managing to achieve the highest possible results in the set goals. He also affirmed that the Government and ministries will continue to accompany and support Son La in its development process.

Responding to the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister, Son La Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Van Nghiem emphasized that he will continue to lead and direct the implementation of socio-economic goals for 2025, striving to achieve an 8% growth target and ensure the people's livelihood; while also effectively implementing the 7 key resolutions of the Central Committee.

The Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee expressed his hope to continue receiving attention and support from the Central Government to help the province overcome difficulties, develop synchronous infrastructure, unleash its potential, and contribute to the development of the Northwest region. Son La is committed to acting decisively, boldly thinking and daring to act to achieve the highest possible results in fulfilling the set goals.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and his delegation inspected the production situation, the progress of several transportation projects, and the operation of the Public Administrative Service Center.

At the DOVECO Son La agricultural processing center, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the enterprise's investment in technology, expansion of raw material areas, and development of agricultural value chains. The Deputy Prime Minister requested the province to cooperate and support the enterprise in improving processing capacity and expanding export markets.

The delegation inspected the progress of the Chiềng Sinh - Chiềng Ngần road project, a 130 billion VND project that is being disbursed according to schedule. In Chiềng Cơi ward, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the efforts in administrative reform and digital transformation; and requested the locality to continue improving technological infrastructure and enhancing the quality of services for people and businesses.
