Coordinate to protect the rights and interests of workers and laborers in Industrial Parks and Economic Zones

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of February 2, the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board, and the City Labor Federation held a conference to summarize the program of coordination in implementing the task of building the Hai Phong working class in Industrial Parks and Economic Zones in 2023; directions and key tasks in 2024.

Comrades: Le Tri Vu, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board; Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Labor Federation co-chaired the Conference.

The program of coordination in implementing the task of building the Hai Phong working class in the Industrial Park and Economic Zone for the period of 2021 - 2025 and the Coordination Plan for 2023 have been seriously implemented by the three agencies; there has been effective coordination in leading and directing the implementation of activities. The coordination work to grasp the situation of life, employment, wages, income, labor relations, working conditions, welfare of workers and the production situation of enterprises in the Industrial Park has been carried out regularly and effectively. Propaganda work has achieved many positive results, with innovation, practicality in content, flexibility, and suitability in form.

The work of developing the Party and establishing new grassroots trade unions in the spirit of Resolution No. 28-NQ/TU of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee achieved the set targets. Emulation movements among workers and laborers were effectively implemented; there were many "Skilled Mass Mobilization" models that practically contributed to taking care of workers' lives. The coordination and consultation on organizing the Dialogue Conference between the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and workers, civil servants and laborers, and consultation on social housing achieved positive results. Completed 19/20 coordination contents in Plan No. 02-KH/BDVTU-BQLKKT-LĐLĐTP, dated January 4, 2023.

At the Conference, the three agencies discussed key tasks and solutions for 2024, including continuing to do a good job of propaganda, strengthening the understanding of the situation of workers in industrial parks and economic zones; continuing to propagate the city's preferential policies for workers such as: Supporting tuition fees for workers' children; supporting information on social housing for workers; speeding up the construction of workers' housing in approved industrial parks; continuing to coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports to implement art performance programs to improve the spiritual life of workers. Focusing on propaganda and orientation to business owners to pay more attention to the rights and protection of legitimate and legal interests of workers. Increasing meetings, contacts, and dialogues with businesses to create consensus and support from business owners for the city's policies to care for the lives, jobs, and housing of workers.

Along with that, coordinate to take care of the material and spiritual life of workers; build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises; coordinate with functional agencies to handle issues arising in practice, especially those related to the implementation of policies, benefits for workers and trade union activities; coordinate to do a good job of building Party organizations, developing Party members; establish Youth Union and Association organizations and admit union and association members. Innovate the content and methods of operation of Trade Union and Youth Union organizations in enterprises.
