In recent years, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in Thom Mon commune, Thuan Chau district has attracted the participation of the people, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people and building new rural areas in the area.

Mr. Lo Van Dinh, Chairman of Thom Mon Commune People's Committee, said: The commune has 1,367 households. Every year, the commune propagates and mobilizes people to effectively implement the 5 contents of the movement, which are solidarity to help each other develop the economy , eliminate hunger and reduce poverty; implement a cultural lifestyle, legal discipline; build cultural institutions; build a green - clean - beautiful - safe cultural environment. The contents of the movement are propagated in many forms, through the loudspeaker system, integrated into commune and village meetings... to the people.

Implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has created a driving force to promote local economic and social development. Currently, people still preserve traditional cultural features and customs, such as: Offerings to celebrate new rice, new house; folk songs, such as lullabies, antiphonal singing, and ancient xoe dances. Propagating and mobilizing people to practice a civilized lifestyle in weddings and funerals; promoting cultural and artistic activities, physical training and sports .

Along with promoting the implementation of the movement's criteria, the commune has paid attention to investing in building cultural, informational, and sports institutions and improving the quality of grassroots cultural and sports activities. The basic cultural institutions have promoted their functions well, serving as places for people to live and meet, places to organize cultural, artistic, physical education, and sports activities, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere in the villages, attracting the active and voluntary participation of the majority of people.

Currently, the commune has 10/10 villages establishing art troupes, sports clubs, 1 club for preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Thai ethnic group, maintaining regular activities. Cultural institutions have been invested in and built with 4 volleyball courts, 3 football fields; 10/10 villages have cultural houses. In 2022, over 70% of households will achieve the title of cultural family; villages will establish village covenants and conventions; the commune will achieve 9/19 criteria for building new rural areas.

Mr. Lo Van Thinh, Head of Hop Nhat 1 Village, shared: The village has 145 households, with 99% of them being Thai ethnic people, the village always preserves the traditional culture of the ethnic group. Currently, the village is maintaining 2 art teams, 2 sports teams with members being women and young people, regularly practicing and participating in exchanges, performing shows imbued with ethnic identity.

In addition, the commune has linked the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" with the implementation of the new rural construction program. Mr. Luong Van Thuong, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Chun Village, shared: Party members in the village are always aware that they must be exemplary, actively respond to movements, especially exemplary in donating land for rural roads, participating in the construction of works serving life and production. In particular, 51 households in the village have been mobilized to complete the site clearance of the road from National Highway 6 to the village and have requested the state to support cement for pouring concrete, creating convenience for people to travel.

The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in Thom Mon commune has truly entered life, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety, improving people's material and spiritual life, promoting cultural identity, and uniting to build a developed homeland.
