From social mobilization to the concerted efforts of the entire political system and the people, the series of activities to care for vulnerable people during Tet (Lunar New Year) has been spreading widely and deeply, strengthening people's hearts.
On the morning of February 11th, at the Party Committee hall of Phuc Son commune, the "Tet Reunion - Spring of Love" program, chaired by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, took place in a warm and heartfelt atmosphere. More than 500 traditional banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) were wrapped and donated to near-poor households, those with difficult circumstances, and people with disabilities in the area, continuing the local community's responsible Tet care activities.
Speaking with reporters, Phan Van Su, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Phuc Son commune, emphasized that caring for vulnerable people during Tet (Lunar New Year) is not only an immediate social welfare task but also a continuous requirement in building national unity and strengthening people's trust in the Party committee and government at the grassroots level.
According to Le Thanh Doan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phuc Son commune, to spread the spirit of "leaving no one without a Tet celebration," the locality organized an activity of making and donating banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) to near-poor households and those in difficult circumstances. Each cake not only carries the flavor of traditional Tet, but also contains the sharing, sense of responsibility, and compassionate feelings of the community for families facing difficulties, demonstrating the determination to ensure that no one is left behind during the Tet holiday.
Joining forces to care for the people during Tet (Lunar New Year), Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh and Viglacera Corporation previously donated 500 million VND to support near-poor and disadvantaged households in Phuc Son commune. This timely socialized funding is an important support, helping the locality proactively implement social welfare activities in a coordinated and practical manner during the Lunar New Year.
This Tet holiday, Phuc Son commune distributed 679 gift packages to families entitled to preferential policies, people who have contributed to the revolution, near-poor households, those with difficult circumstances, and vulnerable people, each package worth 1-1.3 million VND...
Alongside these activities, the local authorities also pay attention to caring for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. At the end of January 2026, Phuc Son commune, in coordination with Le Loi Secondary School (Ha Dong ward), organized the distribution of 120 Tet gifts, each worth 600,000 VND, to disadvantaged students at 20 schools in the area, contributing to motivating them to excel in their studies and have a happier, warmer Tet holiday.
Besides focusing on improving people's welfare, Phuc Son also prioritizes organizing activities to ensure a safe and civilized Tet holiday for its residents. For the first time, the commune organized a centralized spring flower market at the Phuc Lam sports field, instead of along the roads as before. This arrangement aims to minimize encroachment on roads and sidewalks, ensure traffic safety, and create a clean and orderly environment during Tet.

According to Tran Xuan Hai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Son commune, along with the spring flower market, the locality has arranged two Tet markets in spacious areas in Lai Tao and Tuy Lai villages, replacing the previous makeshift markets. This proactive and systematic approach helps people have a convenient and safe place to shop for Tet goods; at the same time, it contributes to restoring urban order, ensuring traffic safety and environmental hygiene in the area.
From the "Tet Reunion - Spring of Love" program to mobilizing social resources, caring for students, and organizing civilized flower and Tet markets, the synchronized and responsible involvement of the entire political system of Phuc Son commune is clearly evident. These concrete and practical actions have spread the spirit of sharing and compassion, creating a united and peaceful spring atmosphere right from the grassroots level. Therefore, this year's Lunar New Year in Phuc Son is not only vibrant with the colors of spring, but also rich in compassion – an important foundation for the locality to continue strengthening the people's trust and building a more united, developed, and sustainable Phuc Son commune.
