Spraying disinfectant to treat the environment after floods in Cam Duong ward

On July 28-29, Lao Cai - Cam Duong Regional Medical Center coordinated with Cam Duong Ward People's Committee, Cam Duong Medical Station and Pom Han Medical Sub-station to carry out environmental disinfection activities, preventing the outbreak of epidemics after floods in Cam Duong Ward.

Previously, on the night of July 26 and early morning of July 27, 2025, in the Ngoi Duong stream area, Cam Duong ward, due to the influence of local heavy rain, flash floods suddenly appeared, causing serious flooding in residential groups along both sides of the stream.

According to statistics, in Cam Duong commune, there are 156 households affected by flooding due to heavy rains and floods, including 15 households in Suoi Ngan residential group, 14 households in Thac residential group, 4 households in Cong Truong 5 residential group, 14 households in Pom Han group 25, 24 households in Pom Han group 28, 50 households in Pom Han group 29, and 35 households in Bac Cuong group 11.

Lao Cai - Cam Duong Regional Medical Center has sprayed disinfectants at households, the sprayed area is about 62,000 ^m2 .

Ensuring environmental hygiene after floods is extremely important to eliminate pathogens, keep the living environment clean, minimize sources of disease transmission, and avoid outbreaks of major and dangerous diseases such as diarrhea, hand, foot and mouth disease, dengue fever, etc.

Disinfectant spraying is an important measure to prevent epidemics after floods.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Head of the Department of Disease Control, Lao Cai - Cam Duong Regional Medical Center said: To proactively respond to floods, the Center has prepared enough human resources, chemicals, and medicines, ensuring timely response to situations that arise. In flooded areas, wherever the water recedes, we will clean and disinfect with Cloramin B chemicals, ensuring disease prevention for people. In addition, grassroots health care has stepped up propaganda work to ensure hygiene of drinking water, domestic water, and disease prevention for people, especially eye diseases, skin diseases, and dengue fever.
