Cua Lo Ward after storm No. 5: Many houses and buildings were damaged, electric poles were broken.

After storm No. 5 swept through the early morning of August 26, Cua Lo ward (Nghe An) was in a state of devastation: Streets were littered with trees, corrugated iron roofs, and signs blown away by the wind; many houses and buildings were damaged, the electrical system was paralyzed, disrupting people's lives. Currently, the authorities are working hard to fix the situation.

INITIAL DAMAGE OF CUA LO WARD

1. Human damage: None

2. Traffic damage:

- Many trees on roads and residential areas were tilted and broken.

- High tide combined with rising sea level of 5-6m caused flooding of coastal roads such as Binh Minh, Nguyen Xi, etc. Cho Hom area was flooded 50cm deep.

- Many roads in residential areas of Nghi Tan and Nghi Thuy were flooded 30-40cm deep due to high tide.

3. Agricultural damage:

- Waves and wind broke the anchor rope, causing 12 rafts to drift and be damaged.

- About 30 hectares of vegetables were flooded, damage has not been assessed yet.

- About 160 poultry.

- 260 boats and 275 sampans anchored safely, without damage.

4. Damage to electrical system

- 16 0.4KV power poles were broken.

- 05 lighting poles were broken and the decorative electrical system on the lighting poles on Binh Minh Street was damaged;

- 19 lamp posts in residential areas were damaged.

- The entire ward's power system has been out since 11:00 a.m. on August 25, 2025, and there is still no electricity.

5. Other damages:

- Roofs and yard roofs of households were blown off: 59 households had their roofs blown off with an area of ​​1,525m2

- The ward gymnasium had its roof completely blown off with an area of ​​2,000 square meters of corrugated iron.

- Schools: Nghi Hoa and Nghi Thuy kindergartens had their roofs blown off with an area of ​​520m2 and 55m of the fence of Nghi Huong and Nghi Hoa kindergartens collapsed.

- 390 m of fence of 27 households and 01 cultural house of the block collapsed.

- 05 entrance gates to residential areas, schools, and tourist areas were broken.

- The gate of Thu Thuy kindergarten and the gate of Song Ngu Son company and many state and private billboards were broken.
