Storm No. 5 swept through Ha Tinh, causing very heavy damage, including many schools having their roofs blown off and being severely damaged.

Ms. Hoang Thi Huong, Vice Principal of Hoa Lien Secondary School, said that the school had prepared well for storm No. 5, but the storm was so strong that the roof of the two-story classroom building was blown off.

According to Ms. Huong, the roofing system was built by the school in 2024 at a cost of 400 million VND. The school is coordinating with local authorities to overcome the consequences of storm No. 5 to welcome the new school year.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, Principal of Xuan Lien Primary School, said that after storm No. 5, the school had a row of classrooms and a cafeteria with their roofs blown off, and many trees in the schoolyard were also knocked down.

Storm No. 5 also caused heavy damage to Son Loc Secondary School (Son Loc commune, Ha Tinh province) with many classrooms having their roofs blown off.

Mr. Hoang The Anh, Principal of Son Loc Secondary School, said that classrooms, practice rooms, and teachers' rooms had their roofs blown off and collapsed.

According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh province, storm No. 5 damaged 156 educational establishments in the area, with an estimated loss of more than 121 billion VND. After the storm, the Department of Education and Training established 4 working groups to visit schools to assess the damage and direct the recovery.
