La Gi Ward: Proactively responding to Storm No. 3

Faced with the risk of natural disasters caused by storm No. 3 (storm Wipha) and accompanying extreme weather phenomena, the People's Committee of La Gi ward has activated prevention plans, requiring functional forces to be ready and proactively respond to any situation that may arise.

According to Mr. Tran The Hung - Vice Chairman of La Gi Ward People's Committee: In the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 3, the Ward People's Committee has requested relevant agencies and units to proactively monitor and closely update weather developments, and promptly deploy disaster prevention plans according to the "4 on-site" motto: On-site command, on-site forces, on-site means and on-site logistics. This is a mandatory requirement to ensure timely and effective handling, minimizing damage caused by natural disasters.

Specifically, the ward has directed the Department of Economy , Infrastructure and Urban Areas to regularly inspect the current status of works, monitor vulnerable areas, make statistics and assess damage if any, and promptly advise and report to the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue according to regulations.

The Department of Culture - Society and the Center for Culture - Information - Sports are responsible for strengthening propaganda and dissemination of weather and natural disaster information to each household through various forms such as television, radio, social networks (Facebook, Zalo ...), billboards, leaflets ... to help people grasp promptly and proactively prevent.

The police, military and militia forces of the ward were ordered to inspect and review areas at high risk of landslides and prolonged deep flooding that directly affect residents. In particular, the Heads of the Village and Ward Management Boards are responsible for reviewing dangerous areas, coordinating reports on plans to evacuate people to safe places when requested, and at the same time making a specific list to send to the Ward People's Committee.

For public works such as schools, offices, markets, and residential houses, the Ward People's Committee directs the immediate implementation of bracing and reinforcement work to ensure the safety of people and property. In addition, fully prepare rescue equipment, supplies, and logistics forces to promptly respond when natural disasters occur.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of La Gi Ward emphasized: Proactively responding to storms and extreme weather events is not only the responsibility of the government but also requires the participation of the entire political system and each citizen. Agencies and units are required to strictly implement, not be subjective or negligent, contributing to protecting the safety of people's lives and property in the area.
