Implementing the program "July without single-use plastic", the People's Committee of Long Thuan ward, Dong Thap province responded and deployed it to cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the unit.

The activity aims to propagate and mobilize cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to actively participate in solutions to minimize the use of single-use and disposable plastic products at agencies, units and in conferences, seminars, meetings, holidays, anniversaries and other events.

In particular, prioritize the selection of environmentally friendly products; mobilize each cadre, civil servant, public employee and non-professional activist to act together and mobilize relatives and the community to say no to single-use plastic products. At the same time, promote the proactiveness and self-awareness of the people in preserving and protecting the environment, ensuring a safe and clean living environment.

Responding to the program, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nguyen, an expert of the Economic - Infrastructure - Urban Department of Long Thuan Ward, Dong Thap Province, shared: "For my colleagues, I often encourage everyone to use thermos bottles, cups, and glasses to drink water every day, instead of plastic cups and plastic bottles.

In my family, I apply the classification of inorganic and organic waste. Waste from paper, soft drink bottles, metals, etc., I collect to sell as scrap. Particularly at the workplace, the Ward People's Committee arranges trash bins for waste classification, my colleagues and I actively implement this."

Particularly at the Long Thuan Ward Public Administration Service Center, a 2-compartment trash bin has been arranged to help officials, civil servants as well as people when coming to do administrative procedures to be able to classify waste themselves.

Officials and residents put recyclable waste such as newspapers, milk cartons, plastic bottles, vegetable scraps, etc. in one compartment, and other waste in the other. The trash cans clearly illustrate the waste suitable for each compartment, so residents can easily sort their waste when they come to the People's Committee to do the paperwork.

Deputy Director of the Long Thuan Ward Public Administration Service Center, Le Minh Quang, said that the Center's civil servants strictly classify waste at source and limit the use of plastic bottles in the office environment, ensuring a green - clean - beautiful workplace.

In addition, to effectively and practically implement the "July without single-use plastic" program, deeply into the habits of each officer, at the specialized departments of the Public Administration Service Center, the People's Committee of Long Thuan Ward has mobilized officers, civil servants, public employees and non-professional workers in the unit to use personal drinking water and cup sets instead of single-use plastic bottles and cups.

At the same time, launch a campaign to clean up public areas in the area such as: Collecting grass, trash, plastic bags; clearing spontaneous garbage dumps at garbage collection points and public areas; clearing bushes, collecting garbage along main roads.

Conduct propaganda on the ward's loudspeaker system, electronic information page, neighborhoods and in schools about the harmful effects of plastic waste and reducing the use of plastic bags and plastic products; collect and classify used products made from plastic, packaging, and plastic bags.

For a green environment, a healthy body and a sustainable future, the collective of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of Long Thuan ward join hands to change habits, say no to single-use plastic products.
