Phan Thiet Ward, Phu Thuy launched "Saturday for the environment"

This morning (August 23), together with a number of communes, wards and special zones in the whole province, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet Ward (Lam Dong Province) organized an environmental protection launching ceremony towards the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2 and launched the emulation movement "Saturday for a bright, green, clean and beautiful environment".

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and departments, units, organizations and schools in the area.

This is an activity in response to the Plan of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee on the occasion of general environmental sanitation to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2; launching a movement for the whole people to join hands to protect and maintain environmental sanitation in the ward.

At the ceremony, Chairman of Phan Thiet Ward People's Committee Tran Nguyen Loc launched a special emulation movement: "Phan Thiet: Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - One general cleaning session per week, one action per day for the environment". Implementation time is from August 23 to September 2, 2025; maintained regularly until the end of 2025 and the following years.

The leaders of Phan Thiet Ward People's Committee called on all cadres, party members, civil servants and public employees to set an example first. Each association must promote its core role. Each residential group must be proactive and creative. In particular, each citizen should start from the smallest things: not littering, sorting garbage, planting a flower tree, reminding each other to keep the alley clean.

The specific competition goal is that 100% of residential areas maintain regular weekly general cleaning; 100% of agencies, schools, medical units, markets... classify waste at source, plant flowers in front of the gate; 100% of business households, enterprises, service - tourism - food establishments in the area sign a commitment to implement "2 no - 3 yes": no untreated waste discharge; no waste storage; have waste classification bins; have classification instruction boards; have green actions every day.

In addition, each residential group selects and builds at least 2 model roads that are bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe. Completely eliminate black spots of waste, do not let waste stay for more than 24 hours in central areas, tourist areas, parks, schools.

According to the leader of the People's Committee of Phan Thiet Ward, the emulation movement "Saturday for a bright, green, clean, beautiful environment" is not only aimed at cleaning up today, but also creating a long-term foundation, gradually forming a modern - sustainable - self-governing urban order. Every citizen, every household, every administrative unit, enterprise, school... must become "the subject of action - the beneficiary - and the custodian."

After the ceremony, Phan Thiet ward leaders and about 150 people from units, organizations and people launched a general cleaning campaign in 3 areas: Nguyen Tat Thanh Street; Doi Duong Park and along Doi Duong beach.

In addition, the locality focuses on the following activities after the Launching Ceremony: Every Saturday, continue to select routes and public places to clean up and plant flowers; continue to maintain the movement with the theme "Houses, headquarters of agencies, units, service businesses, routes, beaches... bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe". Select locations and install and hang some banners to propagate environmental protection. Review and arrange garbage collection locations, public trash bins, equipment, means of collecting and transporting waste appropriately in residential areas, markets, bus stations, schools, entertainment areas. Review and handle the situation of waste accumulation, causing unsanitary conditions, environmental pollution, especially in residential areas, public places, tourist areas, streets, canals, ponds, lakes, rivers, and beaches during and after the 80th National Day Celebration on September 2.

Also this morning, the People's Committee of Phu Thuy Ward also organized a ceremony to launch a general environmental cleaning campaign, launching the movement "Saturday for a bright, green, clean, beautiful environment and planting trees in the ward.

Phu Thuy Ward is one of the famous tourist centers of the province and the whole country. Every year, the ward organizes many exciting and practical activities and responds to the campaign to clean up the environment in the area; clean up and remove hot spots of environmental pollution; plant and take care of trees on the streets in the ward. The ward People's Committee responds to environmental events such as World Environment Day, the campaign to plant 1 billion trees, the campaign to make the world cleaner, and maintain environmental hygiene.

Ward mobilizes vehicles for general environmental sanitation

Immediately after the ceremony, a large number of civil servants, union members, members of the Fatherland Front, organizations, teachers, people of the ward, along with soldiers of the Police, Military, Thanh Hai Border Guard Station, and Squadron 2 joined hands to collect garbage and clear bushes on Le Hong Phong, Nguyen Tuong, Le Dai Hanh, Thu Khoa Huan, Nguyen Phuc Khoat, Nguyen Thong streets, and the Ong Dia stone beach area.

On this occasion, the forces of Phu Thuy ward together with Rong Viet Securities Joint Stock Company and tourism enterprises planted hundreds of Lagerstroemia trees around Ong Hoang Tower area, responding to the tree planting program "Rong Viet - For a green Vietnam". Within this framework, Rong Viet Securities Joint Stock Company donated the "Lagerstroemia garden" project worth more than 800 million VND to Phu Thuy ward.
