
Mr. Phan Duc Thanh - representative of the Management Board of Construction Investment Project No. 2 said that the Hung Vuong Park project (a flooded ecological park in Phu Thuy ward) has an investment scale of 30.08 hectares, with plans to build a lookout, square, outdoor stage; camping area, resting huts; plant trees on the water surface; reinforce the canal embankment; build a boat dock to serve visitors.
In the flooded park depression, elevated and low-lying roads will be constructed for visitors to experience the open space here. Outside, the park perimeter combines with riverside walkways, expanding Ton That Tung Street and Le Dai Hanh Street in the area to serve visitors to travel and park... The total investment of the project is 498 billion VND.
Currently, the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2 has implemented the investment preparation phase such as: approving the design, estimate, contractor selection plan... "However, up to now, the budget of 400 million VND has not been allocated to pay for planning costs", Mr. Phan Duc Thanh proposed.
Meanwhile, recently, the compensation and site clearance work for the Hung Vuong Park project was carried out by the Binh Thuan Land Fund Development Center (formerly) at the Hung Vuong Residential Area project phase II, area 4+5 in the new Phu Thuy ward, with a total area of over 43 hectares, and a total of 124 households receiving compensation.
To date, 109 people's files have been decided on compensation and support, covering an area of over 33 hectares. The remaining files are being negotiated for compensation and site clearance by the Lam Dong Provincial Land Fund Development Center after the merger.
At a recent meeting with relevant departments and agencies, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh said that the progress of the Hung Vuong Park project has been too slow.
Therefore, in the coming time, relevant units need to promptly implement assigned tasks to speed up the project implementation progress. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2 to coordinate with functional units based on specific urban planning to re-determine and adjust the detailed planning of the project; ensure connection with the surrounding natural landscape, create harmony, and ensure environmental landscape.
The Department of Construction is responsible for appraising the project design after adjustment. Along with that, the Department of Finance advises the Provincial People's Committee to arrange funds to pay for planning costs for the consulting unit, according to the proposal of the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2. The Department of Agriculture and Environment reviews and hands over compensation and site clearance records to the Provincial Land Fund Development Center so that this center can coordinate with the Phu Thuy Ward People's Committee to carry out propaganda and mobilize people in compensation and site clearance for the remaining records, and support resettlement for households in the project area in need. The locality does not allow encroachment or re-encroachment in the project area.
The Project Management Board and relevant departments and agencies will accelerate the project to submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval in October 2025; organize the handover of the site to start construction of the park before February 3, 2026 (on the occasion of celebrating the Founding Day of the Communist Party of Vietnam).
