Trinh Linh Giang's championship helped Vietnamese fans witness a professional pickleball tournament under the PPA Tour Asia system in Ho Chi Minh City, held from September 4 to 7.

Trinh Linh Giang's "return"

The tournament, called Vietnam Open, is the final leg of the PPA Tour Asia's three remaining tournaments in Asia, after the Hong Kong Open (August 21-24) and the Sansan Fukuoka Open (August 26-31, Japan).

This is considered by PPA as the "return" of Trinh Linh Giang, the first champion of the tour with great expectations from the domestic pickleball community.

The previous tournament in Malaysia witnessed Giang's brilliant form along with many other prominent faces: Vanshik Kapadia (India) almost won the treble, while the duo Yufei Long and Jamie Wei (UPA Asia Trailblazers) dominated the women's event.

Excited about Trinh Linh Giang's top performance at home

PPA Tour Asia currently operates a three-level tournament system: Slam, Cup and Open, with cumulative points to compete for the No. 1 spot on the regional rankings.

Now, Vietnamese fans will eagerly await the top matches right at Trinh Linh Giang's home ground next September.

Pickleball is currently growing strongly in Vietnam with a growth rate of 152% in 2024 alone, attracting more than 16 million regular players, making Vietnam the fastest growing market in Asia for this sport.
