The rookie team of Ho Chi Minh City Police and the defending champion of Border Guard are strong candidates to compete for the championship title in the men's category of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship. With all 6 qualifying matches won, Ho Chi Minh City Police and Border Guard will meet in the final match taking place today (October 10) to determine the first and second place in the group stage. With the format of the first place team meeting the fourth place team, the second place team meeting the third place team in the semi-finals, these two teams will likely meet again in the final match to compete for the championship title.

Having just won a ticket to play in the National Championship this year, the Ho Chi Minh City Police team is very formidable when possessing a quality domestic squad such as Quan Trong Nghia, Nguyen Van Quoc Duy, Pham Quoc Du, Tran Trien Chieu, Lam Van Sanh. The team led by coach Duong Tan Vinh also brought in the foreign duo Michal Kubiak (Poland), Luka Tadic (Serbia). In which, Kubiak is a classy hitter who was the captain of the Polish volleyball team with 2 world championships. In the Hung Vuong Cup taking place after the first phase of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, Kubiak could not participate in the final match, so the Ho Chi Minh City Police team lost to the Border Guard 2-3. This time, he and the Ho Chi Minh City Police team are determined to conquer the throne.

The Border Guard Team led by Coach Tran Dinh Tien is considered a miniature Vietnam team with players such as Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, Pham Van Hiep, Dinh Van Duy, Tran Duy Tuyen, Truong The Khai. In the foreign player position, this team trusts Thai player Jakkrit Thanamnoi. The team's strong point is the team's cohesive team play, helping them not to fear their opponents in recent seasons.

In addition to the Ho Chi Minh City Police and Border Guard teams, the Tan Cang The Cong team also won a ticket to the semi-finals. The three teams Da Nang, LPBank Ninh Binh, and Sanest Khanh Hoa will have to compete fiercely for the remaining ticket to the semi-finals.

Unpredictable in women's volleyball

The competition in the women's category of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship is considered unpredictable. The biggest surprise is that the reigning runner-up, Duc Giang Chemical Club, fell out of the top 4. Meanwhile, the 4 teams that qualified for the semi-finals are LPBank Ninh Binh, VTV Binh Dien Long An , Information Corps, and the Bank for Industry and Trade, none of which is superior.

The defending champion VTV Binh Dien Long An, without Tran Thi Thanh Thuy because she went to Japan to compete, has somewhat reduced its strength. The fact that the bottom-ranked team, Ho Chi Minh City FC, won 2 games in the second phase just showed many problems at VTV Binh Dien Long An FC that coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa must solve. Similarly, the home team LPBank Ninh Binh was also greatly affected when Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen did not play but switched to being a caretaker.

In the context of VTV Binh Dien Long An Club and LPBank Ninh Binh being weaker than themselves, the Information Corps team is expected to make a breakthrough thanks to maintaining a stable force with players Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Pham Thi Hien, Pham Thi Nguyet Anh and having careful preparation. The convincing 3-1 victory of coach Pham Van Long and his team against LPBank Ninh Binh in the second phase shows the great potential of the Information Corps team.

The Industrial and Commercial Bank team led by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is also highly rated. Although ranked last in the group of 4 teams in the semi-finals, with the strategic talent of "general" Kiet, this team promises to create a surprise in the semi-finals.
