On the afternoon of October 23, PVF-CAND Club held a ceremony to launch the 2023/2024 season. In the first round of this year's First Division, the Public Security team did not play because their opponent Binh Thuan decided to withdraw from the tournament. The new season will officially kick off with coach Mauro Jeronimo and his team from the second round.
PVF-CAND aims to be promoted in the 2023/2024 season.
In fact, it is not until this point that PVF-CAND is a candidate for promotion to the National First Division. For many consecutive seasons, this team has almost only played with young players trained by itself but has always been in the top 3, even playing very well against Thanh Hoa in the play-off match of the 2019 season. But experience is the biggest problem for PVF-CAND.
PVF – CAND Club won 2nd place in the 2023 National First Division season. The team also won the Bronze Medal at the 2023 National Cup, becoming the first First Division team since 2005 to enter the top 4 teams in this arena. Young striker Nguyen Thanh Nhan won the title of V.League 2 Top Scorer with 10 goals.
Evaluating the team's achievements, Mr. Le Canh Duy said: " With the close attention and direction of the leaders of the central and local Ministries, Departments, and Branches, sponsors, and the wholehearted support of the PVF-CAND Club Supporters Association; The 2023 season has ended with strong impressions in the hearts of fans about the spirit of training, solidarity, and nobility of the coaching staff and players ."
To prepare for the new season, PVF – CAND Club also added quality faces such as Hoang Xuan Tan, Le Van Dai in the defense; national player Le Van Do in the attack along with the position of Goalkeeper Ho Viet Dai.
Coach Jeronimo continues to trust the young faces from the PVF Youth Football Training Center – Ministry of Public Security . Among them, we can mention Huynh Cong Den, Nguyen Duc Phu, Nguyen Thanh Nhan – members of the Vietnam U22 Team participating in the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.
Besides that, there are other names full of youth and desire to prove themselves, such as Tran Ngoc Son, Dao Van Chuong, Nguyen Bao Long, Nguyen Xuan Bac, Vo Anh Quan, Tay Van Toan, Ngo Viet Phu, Phi Minh Long or Le Minh Binh.
