| The author Giang Son (Truong Tuan Giang) , born in 1969, is a member of the Hanoi Art Photography Association. |
From a young age, his passion for photography stemmed from his interest in his father's camera. During high school, he took several black-and-white photos for his peers. In 1986, thanks to the dedicated guidance of his teacher, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, he confidently entered the profession, opened a photo studio at home, and has been involved in the photography business ever since.
His passion for art photography began when a friend invited him to attend classes at the Hanoi Art Photography Club. Finding it suited his interests and passion, he continued to participate, learn, and become involved, eventually becoming the Vice Chairman of the club. In 2018, he proposed the establishment of the Nhue Giang Photography Club, serving as its Chairman for two years.
He loves photographing landscapes, especially the natural beauty and unique culture of the ethnic minorities in the Northwest highlands. This region always holds a captivating allure for him, inspiring him to persistently experiment with different angles, explore creative possibilities, and produce satisfying photographic works, often bringing Mu Cang Chai to exhibitions. His notable works include: “Painting with Beeswax”, “A Glimpse of Muong Hum”, “Thai Xoe Dance”, “Tay Girl”, “Dream Waterfall”, “The Way Home”, “The Heart of Ban Phung”, “Morning Mist”, “Perfect Village Stations”...
It's easy to find in his works the colors of the highlands, especially the raspberry-shaped hills of Mu Cang Chai (in Lao Chai commune, Lao Cai province), the winding roads, the rainy season, the schools perched on mountain passes, the flowers blooming to herald the arrival of spring in the highlands, the clouds and mountains blending together beautifully like a painting; or the terraced rice fields changing with the seasons: shimmering water preparing for the new planting season, the green rice gradually turning golden - heavy with grain...
Regarding his next steps, he said he still wants to go to Northwest Vietnam to create more works about terraced rice fields and the lives of ethnic minorities there.
