The Vietnam-Cambodia comprehensive friendship and cooperation relationship is increasingly deepening and developing in all fields.

Welcoming the delegation , Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia Ung Rachana expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang and representatives of agencies next to the Embassy for coming to congratulate on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of establishing relations between the two countries.

Mr. Ung Rachana also congratulated Vietnam on its outstanding achievements in both domestic and foreign affairs as well as its strong economic development; affirming that Vietnam has always shown positivity and is playing an increasingly important role in ASEAN and the world.

For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements and development of the brotherly Kingdom of Cambodia in recent times, especially after more than 45 years since the overthrow of the Pol Pot genocidal regime and the revival of the Cambodian nation, including the great and important contributions of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

According to the Ambassador, over the past 57 years, the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia have overcome all challenges, continuously deepened and increasingly developed in all areas: politics, security, defense, economy, culture, education-training, science-technology, cooperation between ministries, localities and people-to-people exchange. Among those achievements, there are very important and effective contributions from the two countries' diplomatic sectors.

“In the context of the world and regional situation with many rapid, complicated and unpredictable developments, especially the fierce competition of major countries, the sabotage of hostile forces against each country and the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship, it requires the two countries to unite and bond more closely, together fighting to defeat all plots and sabotage tricks.”

On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang thanked the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia for their support and assistance to the Embassy and its agencies in fulfilling their duties and hoped to continue to receive assistance in the future.

The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia expressed his agreement with Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang's opinion that the two sides need to continue to unite and cooperate closely to defeat all plots of hostile forces against each country and the bilateral relationship; and agreed that the two sides will continue to maintain mutual support and assistance at multilateral forums.

Mr. Ung Rachana also affirmed that he will continue to create the most favorable conditions for the Embassy and representative agencies of Vietnam in Cambodia to successfully complete their tasks. In the coming time, he suggested that the two sides coordinate to prepare well for the visits of the two countries' senior leaders as well as the organization of the 21st meeting of the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Cambodia.
