Quang Binh: Discussing and agreeing on the content of the memorandum of understanding on establishing friendly and cooperative relations with Yamanashi province

(Quang Binh Portal) - On August 20, 2024, the working delegation of Quang Binh province had a working session with departments and branches of Yamanashi province (Japan) to discuss the implementation of the content in the memorandum of understanding on establishing friendship and cooperation relations between the two localities.

Overview of the working session

At the working session with the departments, representatives of the departments and branches of the two localities agreed on a number of contents related to the fields of labor and employment, vocational education, agriculture , forestry, tourism, heritage management, education and training, etc. Accordingly, in the field of labor and employment, the two sides will coordinate to directly send workers from Quang Binh province to practice in Yamanashi province in the fields of agriculture, nursing, tourism, etc. for 3 years or less than 1 year at low cost. Yamanashi province supports Quang Binh Medical College to establish a model of the Elderly Care Center to improve the capacity to train quality human resources before going to work in Japan and create sustainable and stable jobs for interns after completing their work contracts in Japan.

In the field of agriculture, Yamanashi Prefecture will support officials from Quang Binh Province to study and learn highly effective production and business models, and introduce and support digital transformation technology in agriculture. Every year, the two provinces will also organize summer camps and volunteer activities for young people and students to exchange, connect, and learn life skills.

Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh and Mount Fuji in Yamanashi are both recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. With many similarities in natural resources and Heritage, the two localities have agreed to cooperate and support each other in the work of preserving, promoting and developing the value of Heritage as well as sharing knowledge on creating tourism products that take advantage of World Heritage Sites. The tourism sectors of the two provinces will also cooperate in promoting tourism on digital platforms, sharing experiences in product development, attracting investment in developing weather-adaptive tourism, agricultural tourism, experience in attracting, investing, managing and developing tourism, especially nature tourism, cultural tourism, history, health care resort tourism, etc.

Yamanashi is a region rich in nature, with forests accounting for 78% of the total area. It is famous for its historical values, natural beauty and is a famous fruit and wine growing region, leading the provinces of Japan in wine production. Yamanashi has many power generation facilities, possesses potential and strengths in high-tech fruit growing, manufacturing industry, mechatronics, jewelry making, wine and strong tourism development.

Previously, in September 2023, the two provinces of Quang Binh and Yamanashi also signed a memorandum of understanding to establish friendly relations and cooperation with the promotion of exchange and cooperation activities in the fields of culture, tourism, energy, agriculture, forestry, environment, labor, employment, youth exchange, etc. Yamanashi is the first locality in Japan with which Quang Binh province has established friendly and cooperative relations. The implementation of the contents of the signed memorandum of understanding contributes to developing friendly relations, promoting economic and cultural development of the two localities, etc.
