Advertisements for 'uterine detoxification' introduce doctors with decades of experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology from leading obstetrics and gynecology hospitals in the city such as Tu Du Hospital, Mekong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital... What is the truth of this, are there doctors from obstetrics and gynecology hospitals participating?

"Cold uterus" difficult to get pregnant?

Many of the advertisements are quite "cool". Specifically, the introduction of a doctor specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, successfully treating over 30,000 cases, with over 10 years of experience in rejuvenation, tightening, and treating infections, the advertisements of a Facebook page named "Doctor D.TT" appeared loudly on social networking platforms, including the method of "detoxifying the uterus" before pregnancy.

Each clip posted by "Doctor D.TT" attracts tens to hundreds of thousands of views, some even reaching millions of views such as: "A cold uterus will make it difficult to get pregnant. The herbal heat detox solution combined with massage and adjustment by Doctor T. helps warm the uterus, clear blood, balance hormones, and increase the chance of natural conception for women", "The girl is smooth after detox"...

After contacting us, we were consulted by a person who claimed to be a "specialist doctor" on behalf of "Doctor T." because Dr. T. was busy assisting in examining other people.

This "specialist" said that we might have a condition called "cold uterus, poor blood circulation, leading to difficulty conceiving". Therefore, we need to come in for a direct examination for evaluation.

"Here, there will be a hydraulic suction machine to push all the dirty residue out, because some women's uteruses do not have a self-elimination mechanism," said this "doctor."

The customer's information was then transferred to another consultant named MC. On August 7, MC asked us to come to the address of building D., That Son street, Hoa Hung ward (HCMC) with the promise that "Doctor T." would directly examine, perform a hysteroscopy and provide free two-way transportation.

As scheduled, at 2:00 p.m. on August 7, a man drove a car to pick us up. He said he was assigned by the clinic to pick up guests, and that the return trip would be "arranged by the department". After about 40 minutes of travel, this man took us to the above address, inside of which was a sign for KJ Clinic.

Upon entering, before the customer could see the doctor for consultation, a clinic staff member asked to go straight to the changing room for a gynecological examination. However, we asked to see the doctor first, and when there was an indication, we would see the gynecological examination later, and this person took us to the waiting floor.

Consultant also acts as a consulting "doctor"

Here, this staff member said that Dr. T. is currently having an urgent surgery so he cannot directly examine the patient and this person will be in charge of recording the information.

Although not wearing a name tag or doctor's uniform, the staff directly stated the cause of the illness: "Irregular menstruation, blood clots or dark color are caused by hormonal problems, need to supplement hormones."

Giving further advice on the method of uterine detoxification, this person said: "Detoxification cleans up the inflammation, this creates a good environment for easier pregnancy. A course of treatment includes three sessions for 3 million VND, with a five-year warranty..."

To help customers quickly register for the service, the consultant then continued to bring a person called "Doctor O." to consult, this person said that he was an obstetrician of MK Obstetrics Hospital who would directly examine.

"Detoxification will help warm the uterus, doing 3-5 sessions will help with conception and menstrual flow. Women who have had sex can join to get clean, no problem, Dr. T. and I work together as a team. If you think it's OK, then sign up, I'll give you a health check-up package" - "Doctor O." said and urged us to sign up.

Tu Du Hospital has no one named doctor D.TT

Speaking with Tuoi Tre on August 12, a representative of Tu Du Hospital (HCMC) said that after checking and reviewing information from the personnel department, it was confirmed that there is no doctor named D.TT currently working at the hospital.

Going to the medical practice lookup portal of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, we also did not see the name of doctor D.TT of Tu Du Hospital.

Regarding the "vagina" detox method as advertised, a doctor with many years of experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology and infertility in Ho Chi Minh City said that up to now, there is no scientific evidence that "vagina" detoxification will bring many benefits to women's reproductive health as advertised, but also faces many risks such as burns, microflora imbalance, damage...

Beware of damaging your vagina due to too much douching.

Doctor Bui Chi Thuong, head of obstetrics at Gia Dinh People's Hospital, said that in medicine there is no concept of "hot or cold uterus".

The vaginal microflora is very rich, including beneficial and harmful bacteria that coexist. With this balance, the vagina is protected by a natural barrier, capable of resisting local pathogens as well as external invaders.

Continuous douching can cause more infections and even pose a risk of affecting fertility if not treated promptly.

To report a medical facility violation, which number should I call?

The hotline of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health 096.777.1010 receives people's feedback related to the quality of medical examination and treatment services, the service attitude of medical staff as well as problems arising at medical facilities in Ho Chi Minh City.

The hotline against "faking illnesses and extorting money" 0989.401.155 receives specific reports on negative behaviors related to "faking illnesses and extorting money", providing unprofessional advice to take advantage of patients or behaviors that violate professional ethics.
